What is Your Favorite Trim Color and Sheen (Sherwin Williams)
Comments (32)we are thinking of using SW Dover White (flat) on all the walls in our small open concept house to unify them; I like the slightly creamy undertones, however, cannot decide on a color for the trim. I am thinking maybe SW Alabaster in semi gloss. Anyone have any experience with the best trim to use with SW Dover White as the wall color? House does not get a lot of natural light....See MoreWhat's your favorite warm off-white trim color?

Comments (4)Have you looked at BM Ivory White? After weeks of mental turmoil between Linen White and Ivory White, I picked the Ivory White(still have my fingers crossed) for the kitchen cabs to go with my Colonial Gold granite. The walls in the family room and the little bit of walls in the kitchen will be BM Splendor. The Linen White seemed to be a little pinkish to me. The Ivory White wasnt in a paint deck but behind the counter at the BM store. Number 925-Classic Colors. Comments (4)Thank you! Yes, I agree about getting samples. Mine is actually the gloss finish. If you have a lot of imperfections in the trim I wouldn't go any shinier than semi-gloss... not sure I've seen (or noticed) trim done in satin. More likely I've just never noticed it was a low sheen. If you're already looking at the BM lines, may I suggest their Advance line for your trim. It's what we used on our cabinetry and kitchen trim and it was so nice to work with. You can hardly tell the difference between what my hubby sprayed on and what I painted with a brush, it just smooths out those brush marks so nicely. Hubby said he liked it in his sprayer too. We thought it was worth the bit of extra money. It's holding up very nicely too, though it has a longer cure time than regular paint. (Something we found out when I took a microfiber cloth to some of my drawers too soon, we had to repaint those two drawer fronts. I did it when it was only about 2 weeks old, it takes about a month to really cure. Who knew that a dry microfiber cloth could do so much damage? Now I do! LOL! Apparently you're supposed to get them damp first.)...See MoreMary Elizabeth
