Open Floorplan: living room/dining room OR extra big living room?
Comments (12)I vote for hardwood or engineered wood through the whole space, including the kitchen. Opening the wall would be nice, but I suspect your appliances are arrayed along that wall? I'd paint the wall the same pale color as the living space, and hang a really big mirror on the wall if you can't open it. Then you open the wall visually, and reflect the light from the sliders back into the space. (I know...me and mirrors. They are great manipulators of space, particularly when you commit to making them big!)...See MoreFlooring help for combined kitchen, dining and living room

Comments (2)"We're looking to replace indoor carpet that is over 25 years old and original to our house. The living room and dining room are one big connected area that is about 30 feet long and varies in width from 15' to 22'." That describes my project to a tee. No pets though, and none in the future. Also I have good, solid, even floors. I'm planning on engineered wood. Sounds like you might want a floating LVP type of product....See MoreKeep small dining room, or redo as 2nd office/library/music room?
