Comments (27)Re: the snow in Newfoundland - they got 30 inches in 2 days, and that with almost 100 m.p.h. winds. People told to stay home. About 70 inches since just before Christmas. They often get the tail end of storms that come up the east coast - and sometimes tail ends can be unpleasant (even with dogs). We got some snow Fri and Sat, with some rain. Landlord hadn't ploughed the lane, I wondered whether more snow overnight would mean I couldn't get out. I put a snow shovel into the car before departure: better safe than sorry, Dad used to say. The undercarriage of the car dragged over the snow a bit as I came through a small drift just outside the door, and I doubt whether there was visible dragging as I came down the lane: will see when I go home (if before dark). Comments (22)The apples come from Bella Farms and are $5 a bag. They are sold in boxes in the back of an old wooden wagon on the side of Valencia Road. It is the honor system that you will pay. It grows very well in my area & the brightest color orange one is ’Lucifer’ It spreads like crazy - I learned from experience with it. 6 years agoIt is also Divine Mercy Sunday...my peeps did this project over Easter and all the colors were used in DH's trim work. Like the Jewish people put the blood of a lamb on their doors so the angel of death would pass them by Catholics put the image of Divine Mercy on their front windows/doors, especially this year given what all is going on in the world.
6 years agoToday is the 25th anniversary of the bombing of the Murrah Building in Oklahoma City. We all know, why there won't be a Memorial Ceremony.
6 years agoFirst one I found. This was made by first graders at my great-niece’s school for their art festival in early Feb (with assistance from my niece). Each student painted a cube and the art pieces were sold in a silent auction. I thought it was quite good.
6 years agoThe old kegger fridge. It doesn't have beer in it anymore, but boy, those days were some good times. We were the most popular people on the block!
