Finally! Installing new windows in the house next door. There is at least 30 of them. The house has been empty for 10 years. The renovation has been going on for 3 years. After a new roof 2 1/2 years ago, the windows would have been a priority to me. The house was built in 1918, and everything was original. Several of those windows had fallen out over the last 10 years and nothing was done to close up the hole. But interior work has been done in spurts first. There has been no rhyme nor reason to anything over there.

lgmd - Can you send me a message through this site? I don't think I can message you, at least when I clicked on "lgmd" there wasn't an option to message. My daughter only started to make these a little while ago. I'd be happy to mail one to you She isn't selling them yet but tomorrow she has an appointment with a shop near her that sells plants, containers, water gardens etc. She'd love to get a job there but they only re-opened last week and business is still slow. She was furloughed last summer and has tried to keep busy during the pandemic. A year ago she moved out of her house and into a condo closer to work but she desperately misses her yard and garden. So now her condo is full of houseplants and seedlings and cuttings. This is the entry and courtyard into the condos - guess which door is hers.

@lynnNM - I have all sorts of art and artefacts on my walls, and I treasure them all. Most aren't worth much in money terms, but they are priceless when it comes to memories. I think one of the things that bothers me about a lot of design and decor these days is that objects are picked for how they fit in with the "theme" rather than for any personal meaning they might have.

Maire cate, no she doesn't live in the cabin, but someone could overnight there. She lives in a larger house next to the cabin on the property. The previous property owner had the cabin moved there and added space on the back for a small kitchen and bath (there is a sleeping room up the stairs). My friend needed studio space for working and teaching. She found a man and crew who did a wonderful job of refurbishing the original cabin and adding her studio and a porch, which is to the left. He used hewn logs and materials consistent with the period and rebuilt the fireplace to work safely and properly. It is beautiful inside and out and warm and cozy. She added this plaque by the front door.

The apples come from Bella Farms and are $5 a bag. They are sold in boxes in the back of an old wooden wagon on the side of Valencia Road. It is the honor system that you will pay. Though we have seen people take a bag and leave without paying. We always pay and leave extra.

Thanks for the info - I looked at a map and that's not too far from an egg ranch we've gone to a time or two. I'll call to see if they still have any, it might be a nice day for a ride before the rain comes. .
