I think they are using 2018 tax info...but that's great to know you received it.

We have gotten our refunds from state and federal all ready.

I thought they weren't even starting until the April 17th ? I know they're opening a website on the 17th, where you can check to see the status of your funds, and when they'll be deposited in your account..

I read somewhere that they were testing the system yesterday. It may be that the money is really in the account or will remain "pending" until the system is fully operational. You might look tonight to see if it has been reversed. Depending on your bank's own processing it may not change out of the "pending" until Tuesday or Wednesday.

Do not use it until it leaves the pending status unless you have funds in that account to cover it plus any expenses until the status changes.

Good point about waiting until until the money is indeed posted into your account and not pending.

Like I said, I didn't expect anything. I even heard or read somewhere that it's being suggested "if you think you don't need it" donate the money to a Food Bank, small business owner or similar.

They will use your 2019 tax return information if it's already been filed. If not, they default to your 2018 return.

I have not received a refund in many, many years. I don't intend to pay this year's money until the last day (in July). The government has my bank account information due to social security, but not as a result of income tax filing.

It will be interesting to see what amount I receive. Husband died in January of last year I filed joint because he was alive long enough to receive pension payments.
