White Kitchen need tile back splash and wall paint ideas
Comments (6)I am looking for the same. New white kitchen in a home built in 1928- my adjacent dining room is also a green. We have wood floors and will have some stainless. I am still trying to figure out countertops and backsplash- designer and architect like white subway. There is a beautiuful green kitchen on this site somewhere I think the name was "Bulkey". You might be able to do the same in grey. If you cannot find it I think I have filed a photo of it. I think it may be a Candice Olsen design. I am wanting a sunnnier color for mine - I tend to love the yellows and am even considering an apricot/paler mango color. Now sure how this would work with the green dining room - but I cannot stop thinking about it. I will keep you posted on my colors as they change. Does anyone have a kitchen that is apricot or mango?...See MoreNeed help finding a non-white backsplash for a White kitchen
Comments (9)My first project with glass tile involved my removing two columns of mortared mosaic glass squares because I didn't like the angle of my tile cuts. In the process of pulling it down I cut myself (no big surprise). What was a bit of a surprise was the surgery I needed two months later to remove a shard of glass lodged on the tendon of the middle finger of my right hand. It could have severed that tendon at any time, which would, of course, have been disastrous. He needs a wet saw, a diamond blade for it, personal protective equipment (I wore goggles, boots, gloves, but my gloves weren't leather) and health insurance! Regarding the tile, seeing all the samples together, Tusk has the right undertones, and would be my choice. You can choose anything you like, of course, but I don't think Gardenia is the right one. I am partial to the glazed thin brick and show it below in Alcatraz and Glacier. I totally get it if you feel you already have enough brick! But this may be a better color family for you....See MoreWhich white granite and backsplash to go with my blue gray cabinets?
Comments (9)THANK YOU ALL for the great suggestions! I'm definitely going to go lighter for the countertops then! Showed all the comments to my hubby as well to convince him ;) At the warehouse now... just found out slab #3 (light gray and white) has a "smiley face" crack on it :/ I'll have to see if the fabricator can work around it. The "super white" looks super gray here. The frosty carrina looks great but still a little expensive for us :( Aprilneverends-You're so right about the movement on the cabinets! We had painted over builder's oak. That is a big factor that I'm considering when picking the movement on the countertop Aboxofcrayons-I love your cabinets! Is it the distressed wood look? I would love to see your kitchen once the countertops are installed! Oldbat2be- I have laminate right now and there are few burn spots on it too. I'm dying for something new, glossy, and durable :) Torreykm-We had our cabinets painted with a gray stain. I originally wanted a distressed wood or driftwood look. Our GC ended up painting it! We just left it then lol. I can find out which color and brand we used and I can post it here when I get back home :) I'll keep you guys posted! Thanks so much again!!!...See MoreWhite kitchen: marbled or solid white counters if colorful backsplash?
Comments (5)Thanks @J Inhof and @Pam A. Good question about the tones of the Pure white - I don't have a sample of the Pure White (oops!) but I did look at it with my cabinets in the IKEA store (which obviously has very different lighting). The Pure white, was very very close to the cabinet color. The Frosty Carrina overall read a slightly cream - I do have a sample of Frosty Carrina, and in my kitchen it also reads slightly cream (and the website describes it as ivory). Here is a photo I took at IKEA of 'my' cabinets with Frosty Carrina:...See MoreLinda
