Countertop delivered with the WRONG edge, NEED ADVICE

Maggie Bradshaw

I ordered my countertop through Home Depot...when my countertop was delivered it had the wrong edge. I requested a FLAT edge, and what was delivered was a BULLNOSE edge. I refused the countertop upon seeing it had the wrong edge. Unfortunately, my current countertop had just been removed that same day (so I was without at countertop and working kitchen sink for several weeks).

Home Depot subcontracts to The Countertop Factory. In my research and understanding of their operations, both parties are at fault. I have been working tirelessly trying to get the countertop with the correct edge. Neither party wants to accept the sunk cost and build me a new coutnertop with the flat edge. Home Depot is offering $1,000 refund if I keep the countertop with the wrong edge...but I paid $5,600. $1,000 seems like a small concession knowing that I will have to live with the wrong countertop edge forever.

Advice? Has anyone experienced something similar? If so, what was the outcome?
