Cost for Frameless Glass Shower Door
Comments (6)I'm in a high cost area of CA and last year I paid $1,200 for 36 x 70, 3/8 starphire glass. Your price might not be that out of line for the very expensive Maui market. Can you get a bid from another shop?...See MoreFrameless shower glass enclosure question
Comments (8)I looked at my shower, I also have a pony wall but the capping is pretty much flush with the side wall, and the glass is to the edge. I dont have a door on there yet ( hardware not delivered ) but I think mine will have a minimal gap.My shower is large so I dont have water splashing out where the door should be. Your ponywall looks to block water from the door. The only other advice ill give to you for your beautiful huge glass shower is 303 Graphine coating. Its a ceramic coat that will keep that glass looking beautiful. Many people use rainex (i have) but this coating can last up to a year (they claim). Certainly longer than other products....See Morecost of towel hook in frameless shower glass

Comments (6)Thanks--our challenge is that the plumb wall (which is new) is only a 42" high pony wall. But we could possibly have one hinge in that wall and the other on the glass panel that will be installed on top of the wall. The last crazy plan I came up with is to go with a custom shower curtain rod instead. (This shower was originally supposed to have a full wall to create an alcove with a shower curtain, but due to a lot of shifts as we went through the project to accommodate old house quirks, we switched to a pony wall with a glass enclosure to allow light into the shower enclosure.) If we attach it to a fixed panel on the non-plumb side, it would definitely be a short one. The shower is 42" long and the door was to be 27" so there is room to do that. (Leaving aside the part where we prefer the door hang from the wall than from a fixed panel, it has some benefits--there could be a towel hook behind the door, for instance.)...See MoreRelated Professionals
