Back-painted glass is a great modern backsplash, and it's very easy to maintain. It's costly though.

Thanks stillpat. That was my original suggestion but for some reason my wife is not fond of the glass for back splash. :(

I do love that but it would depend on the exact counter material and how busy you like things. You could also do something like that and use white grout. I have part of a wall with d3 tile with white grout (and back painted glass on the adjacent) and it works.

Is there a chance to switch to tall, down to the countertop casement windows? It would copy your inspiration kitchen more and bring in lots of light. I love your dark cabinetry! And great floors also. The back splash link you posted is one of my favorites and would go well with this kitchen.

Choose the counter havi it installed then choose a backsplash right now all I can do is guess what your counter is .

Match the island counter top with the backsplash in a bright white marble style quartz with grey veining. I love the new porcelain but you need an experienced installer for the countertops if you plan on a thick waterfall edge because they can be tricky.

Thanks for all the suggestions Houzz. In hindsight I would have done things different. I would have designed the windows to fill the whole space up and down to the counters and made them casement. I would have prepped the wall and windows (drywall returns) for slab backsplash. In looking at my situation I am going to take the advice of some of you and do all white santorini quartzite for the counters, and do a white backsplash. Keep it simple without ripping out half my kitchen wall

I think the White Santorini Quartzite would look fantastic both on your island and as a backsplash.

Just wanted to point out. I work with Fenix all the time. You don't want to have the plastic protection film get baked by the sun for too long or you will have a problem. If it's in a shaded area it's fine to leave it as long as you want.

I think we are moving in the direction to do the island, perimeter counters and backs splash (all the way up the wall) in the same White Santorini Quartzite. Any feedback on this? Im sensitive to adding too many different materials into the mix. Is this too much of one thing?

Thanks for the feedback. I was initially going to do a porcelain or a Dekton but we felt a natural stone may have more longevity. Was scared of marble due to its high maintenance even though it’s beautiful

We used our quartzite as back splash too. It looks great and is easy to clean.

Donblackie, I am considering white Santorini quartzite for my countertops and backsplash. How did it turn out? Is it durable? Have you ever sealed it?
