Peppers from last year (and some from 2 years...)
Comments (6)seasea - I need you to "open" your email so I can send you a message (without the universe seeing our private addresses). Go to your member page (link at the bottom of all GW pages, and you'll find a form letting you "open" your email to GW members or "all". Whatever works. On your membership page (that the rest of us see) it should then have an email link. Right now it does not. This helps us all trade with you! Thank-you!!! Randar, please let me know what peppers you might like....See Moremistakes I made last year
Comments (24)I second pippi21 in thanking all those who added their bloopers that will help newcomers avoid making the same mistakes. I'm mixing my own blend of soil since I got into the game late & couldn't get my hands on anything other than the Miracle Gro Moisture control potting mix. I'm going with 2 parts of it to start mixed with 1 part seed starter, 1 part Perlite, 1 part regular potting mix & fingers crossed. Paint pen labels and a BIG reminder to put them inside the containers before I seal them. Mostly half-gallon milk jugs, about a dozen clear 2-liter seltzer bottles (soldering iron made nice round holes in the bottoms), and about 15 1-gallon milk jugs. Sowing mostly perennial flowers this first time WSing....See MoreTwo Project ideas from last year working out well this this year
Comments (5)I had to direct sow last year after my zinnia seedlings failed and the daffs flopped. So I never did get it too look like what I had in mind. But this year is different. Jean, I know zinnias need lots of sun and the get lots of sun there all afternoon from about noon on. Just shady earlier in the morning....See MoreShare your New Year's Eve Dinner and New Year's Day Meals.......
Comments (32)Angelaid, I love potato pancakes but I would say that is is my favourite version. There is no secret to making these pancakes. I've made them with mashed potatoes that I made specifically for making these pancakes and I've also made extra mashed potatoes for dinner and saved the leftovers for these pancakes. When I make them with the leftover mashed potatoes there is also butter in the mix. This is not a stiff or thick batter. I use a 1/4 cup measuring cup to scoop up the batter. Mere Blanc's Potato Pancakes From:www.thedailyspud.com with very minor changes. 2 small baking potatoes 1/4 cup milk 1/3 cup All-Purpose flour 2 eggs, separated 1-1/2 tablespoons heavy cream Pinch of salt Pepper Fresh chives (or green onions) Butter for frying Cook potatoes until tender Mash with a little milk. Let potatoes cool before adding the remaining milk, cream, flour, egg yolks, salt, pepper and chives. Beat Egg Whites until stiff. Fold into potato mixture. Do not over mix. This is a light but thick batter. Heat a griddle or skillet. ( I used a rectangle electric frying pan) . Brush with butter. Using a 1/4 cup measuring cup drop batter on to griddle. Cook until pancakes are brown and then flip. Serve with sour cream. Here is a link that might be useful: Potato Pancakes...See Moremxk3 z5b_MI
