Verbascum phoeniceum 'White Bride' issues?

I have Verbascum phoeniceum 'White Bride' that reseeds. It is on the side of the house with the poorest soil, and such blinding light (the paint fades on this side of the southwestern facing portion of the house). Yet, the stems never grow straight. What's up with that?
Also, took an inventory this past week, and one plant looks really different. Any ponderings you might offer?
Or maybe it's 'Snow Maiden'. Something white. I do use Swallowtail
