A new series. The 2nd episode was shown Thursday night on CBS. Tommy is the nickname given to the character played by Edie Falco because her last name is Thompson. She has been hired from the east coast to be police chief for LA (?) and has to overcome the resentment of an outsider and a woman being brought in to improve department performance. Edie Falco came to my attention initially as the wife of Tony Soprano in "The Sopranos," and because she is the star of this show, I decided to check it out. I am enjoying it. Good writing and good acting. I think it is going to be a hit.
