In this episode of Houzz TV Live, Australian architect Rebecca Naughtin speaks with Olivia Stuckey of the Houzz communications team. Naughtin highlights several home renovations in which customization played a large role. For one home, Naughtin designed a curved brick wall to follow a bend in the property line.
In another, she created a custom countertop (called a bench in Australia) that juts out from the kitchen to keep guests out of the cooking zone. For a client she met through Houzz, Naughtin designed custom floating cabinetry (called joinery) to maximize storage in a living room. And in another project, she designed a cozy nook beneath a staircase for a family dog.

This one’s a hit! Interesting exchange between them; brief yet in-depth insights into various facets of the architect’s work (bespoke and preservation) and her development processes with clients; plus FUN. The friendly, toasty dog! Great feature on an excellent architect artist.
Loved seeing all your projects Rebecca. Loved the space under the stairs for the dog even though it was quite accidental. Great Work!
I would like to see some interviews of what was done and why with Architects in NSW.
also do they only do projects in their part of the state, or in their state, or do they do more remote locations as well.
I like this style of interview and found it great to watch
but also great to get a glimpse of the personality of the architect
