That is the only living space in the house. It's a townhouse we're renting for a year or two. We sacrificed on space to be close to the beach, which has been an awesome choice, until Irma, of course. We don't have any other "real" furniture for the living area, and we wanted to avoid purchasing anything until we bought a home, but when the old sofa had to go, we had to replace that. So we don't have any other seating, but it's really not a big deal. We don't have kids or family in the area, and we don't have a bunch of people over at one time, so the sectional is enough for our current needs. Is there anything in particular you would suggest for ottomans? I would like something that fits physically with the sofa to get something close to a chaise feel without having to close off the space permanently as you would with a chaise. Finding the right size is important too, as I dislike the really big ottomans for sectionals; they take up way too much space and prevent the use of a coffee table.

A sofa and two lounge chairs is always the most flexible, however a sectional small in scale might work. I might consider placing the TV in the RH corner instead of giving it a whole wall, but it's hard to tell without seeing that wall. You might want to consider adding think shelves to either side of the FP wall.

just a few ideas that I'd suggest. a plant in the corner where that little bench is. I posted two diff types, either would work. I gave you a side table w/a lamp on the other end. I like the idea of a pouf in this camel color to warm things up a bit, or do a stool or two placed in front of fireplace. I also like these shelves between the two windows. ( I don't know what furry dog is going to do with these,,,maybe have the toddler stand on his back?? lol. hang them well out of reach and they'll be fine. I'd put a few small plants on them. This will eat up that middle space) You could also take these teak decking tiles and attach a plant/pot onto it, and hang two of these between the transom windows. if you want a bench, do something like this in the wood. all of those neutral gray tones make everything seem very cool. add some wood and some texture to warm it up a bit. over the back of sofa do a cool piece of art don't hang them too high. (your tv is hung too high btw. ) and a rug for the sofa area A jute one would work too for the dining area, you could also do this jute rug like shown. for the wall, I'd do another piece of sizable art to hang on that one wall. This one has a larger wall, but look at the black and white picture. basically the same size of yours. you want something this big. Or, do a shallow buffet or console w/a mirror over it and some greenery, like shown here.

I wouldn't base my decision on spring vs foam cushions, I would rank frame quality and fabric higher. Cushions eventually wear down regardless of spring or foam construction. I think it is easier to replace a foam cushion after ~7 years compared to a custom spring replacement. They both have a different feel to consider. Spring cushions feel more like you are sitting on top of the sofa instead of sinking in (think about a movie theater cushion, they often have springs). Springs can last longer but are also more susceptible to other issues (noise when moving). If you have an Ethan Allen near you, they usually have a sofa with numerous cushion styles to test our, including springs. They charge $200/piece extra for springs. I wouldn't recommend Crate & Barrel due to quality. C&B is a notch up from IKEA, but not great. They don't use mortise & tenon joinery, the frames are much lower than the back cushions (cost saving design but doesn't support cushions and is uncomfortable). They don't use batting on the outside of the frame so it quickly shows the wood frame through the fabric. Their fabrics are unusual and if you pick an upgrade from the stock fabric, the price becomes comparable to a higher-end sofa. West Elm is about the same and they often use pine for frames (softwood w/ lower density compared to hardwood). I've had all these brands and have been happier with Pottery Barn and Ethan Allen. Have you looked at Rejuvenation or Williams-Sonoma? I've priced nicer custom sofas for the same price as C&B. Hope that helps!
