Bouche de Noel question

I have never in my life made any kind of rolled cake but I want to make a Bouche de Noel this year. So today as a trial run I just made a boxed Devil's Food cake and baked it in a jelly roll pan. Sprinkled a linen towel with cocoa and watched the cake carefully and as soon as it tested done I turned it out onto the towel and rolled it up. It rolled up easily and is sitting on the cooling rack still wrapped in the towel. So rather than waste it, can I freeze it like that then thaw it the day before the party and fill it, re-roll it and frost it? If so, should I leave the towel and wrap it well in heavy duty foil - the party is in a little less than 2 weeks.
Thanks
Edie
