Using Bona NaturalSeal on top-nailed red oak
Comments (8)We had our 2 1/2" top-nailed red oak floors refinished with some kind of water-based Bona Natural seal...no stain...almost 2 years ago. The nails are visible in the existing floor, which were sanded enough to remove the stain; nails are not as visible on the matching floor we had them install in the rooms that had previously been carpet. But, again, I'm okay with it - by the time furniture, etc. goes in, it's less noticeable - and honestly, the floors are 62 years old - they're not going to look brand new. They're still beautiful to me, though....See MoreBona Natural Seal sanding advice
Comments (2)The ideal thing to use would be a Bona red pad, or any 320 grit nylon pad. If I didn't have a buffer I'd modify the pad to fit a pole sander typically used on drywall. https://www.bona.com/en-us/products/professional/abrasives/other-accessories/sia-16in-all-purpose-pad/...See MoreUser
