Bona Nordicseal on red oak
Comments (357)Casa Rutherford- sorry im just now seeing this! here is the exact recipe according to my floor guy 50/50 country white and paint thinner mix One coat Bona Natural Two coats Bona (mega one) Update since last i posted is that thd floors ended up a little too matte in texture. They came back, buffed, and put a coat of bona satin traffic on them for added protection. This did not change the color however and the pics I posted were before that addition. My floors looked peach to me in the beginning too but as i got used to them i realized they were really pretty it just took a bit of time to sit with. Most people seem to have better luck with nordic seal but I just didnt want that look I wanted them to retain more natural color....See MoreBona Nordic Seal on red oak
Comments (6)Natural seal will turn a bit golden. That will enhance the look of cinnamon brown. A Red Oak floor does NOT need sealant. Which means you can go straight to the Bona Traffic HD (the expensive stuff) with 3 coats will offer a beautiful 'wheat' coloured floor. The three coats of Traffic will offer the TOUGHEST floor finish possible. Go ahead and pay the up grade price for 3 coats of HD and go without the sealant....See MoreRed Oak Flooring - want to refinish with only Bona Traffic HD
Comments (20)Hi everyone! We are doing a full home renovation and have red oak floors on one floor of the house and white oak on the other floor. We are trying to get the floors to look as close in color as possible. I’ve seen a few threads and articles about using Bona Nordic Seal, Traffic HD Poly, and some mention using a country white stain (I think duraseal makes country white, and Bona just makes a “white”)- did any of you have the issue of two different woods and if so, did you do the same number of coats/combination of seals and stains on both floors? Or did you stain the red oak to dull the pink while leaving the white oak natural? We are going to sample some of the combos in the house to see before we decide but wanted to see what worked for others. Thank you!...See Morematch red oak banister to white oak floors.
