You won't find a thumbs down vote from me! I also like peanut butter and crispy bacon on toasted pumpernickel. I might add a little bit of honey, too.

I love rye bread.

My dad used to pair peanut butter with well done bacon on toast frequently.

I rarely eat peanut butter sandwiches, really don't care much for it. But when I do eat one, it is the chunky style peanut butter, and has to have crispy bacon on it! Haven't tried it on rye bread, that sounds pretty good.

I really ought to show this thread to my grandson, he thinks putting bacon on a peanut butter sandwich is weird. Come to find out here, I am in very good company!

We just got home from Kroger and intentionally bought rye bread and bacon. Lunch will be peanut butter and bacon on rye! I'll try anything once. I'm going to call it my roast & smoke on rye. :)

Before I developed a peanut allergy, peanut butter and bacon on a bagel was my got to breakfast. There is a famous burger place in Atlanta called Vortex that has a burger called the Fat Elvis. peanut butter, bacon and fried plantains! Once a year splurge for me.

I just love peanut butter on rye! (I have to butter the bread first. Does anyone else do this? My kids can’t stand butter on their peanut butter sandwiches, I can’t eat them any other way.)

But bacon? Blow my mind! Now I have to try that!

I always have to have butter on the bread before the peanut butter. My NJ relatives always had peanut butter and bacon sandwiches, no Southerners in that group LOL. Wonder how it originated, I don't know................ but I like it - on hot white buttered toast :)

We have a beach front grill down here (in NE FL) that has a peanut butter and bacon burger as a special fairly often - its a popular item.

We've been to a brewery in this area that has a burger with PB and bacon on their menu. I tried it and thought it was really good. Hubby had a bite and decided he didn't care for it.

I also recently had smoked caramel/bacon ice cream at a local creamery that would have been yummy if the ice cream maker hadnt been over zealous with the smoke flavor.

I'm not a big fan of rye bread, so I'd most likely go with sour dough or WW bread if I were to have your sandwich, Glenda.

Mugshots, a burger restaurant, offers pb and jelly burgers. I tried it once. First bite, my brain couldn't connect, but second bite, it said OK go for it, it's good :o)

I used to buy food on Mexican trains frequently, but that was generally only possible when I got a second class seat. The second class cars had windows that would open, which allowed food vendors to sell food through the windows, but in first class, the windows would not open - plus there was no air conditioning, but at least dust and dirt did not come in through the windows. In Primera Especial, there was air conditioning, and seat were reserved, but of course you could not buy food through the windows, and food/tequila vendors were not allowed to walk through.

I have fond memories of buying food on Mexican trains, but unfortunately, the Mexican government has gotten rid of the passenger trains. I remember getting different kinds of empanadas in different regions. In Chiapas, I got pineapple empanadas, which were like fried pies. In other regions the empanadas had meat fillings, and only in Chiapas did I find fruit fillings. The names changed for the same foods from region to region as well. I also bought ice cream (helado) on Mexican trains, and my favorites were coconut and mamey. Today I can buy mamey paletas in California, which makes me very happy.

I've never had peanut butter and bacon. Would never have thought to combine the two. I only buy rye bread when I make Rubens which isn't very often because it's just easier to go buy one already made than make one and then have to eat them for days on end to finish off the bread and stuff to make the first one.

Not sure I would like peanut butter wth bacon, but peanut butter on rye sounds good.

Peanut butter and Bacon, yum! I love peanut butter and bacon toast. I am not a fan of caraway seeds (can “sniff” a loaf of bread and know immediately if it has caraway), but I love dark bread...as long as it has no caraway.

I have never had that sandwich. I do like rye bread with ham. I used to make rye bread once in awhile but have not done that in years.

Okay. I tried the bacon and peanut butter on white toast. It's a winner. Will even be better on rye. I like my peanut butter on toasted bread.

First time I ever had pb and bacon was while cruising. They had yummy brown bread and I ate it with pb and bacon every morning for breakfast.

Rye is my favorite of all breads. With seeds.

I can probably count on the fingers of one hand the times I've EVER had a peanut butter sandwich in my entire life. But several weeks ago I decided to try PB and bacon. No idea why the idea came to me. I keep Santa Cruz PB around for making sesame noodles to take to parties (all dish to pass around here), and the bacon was extremely good quality, as was the bread. The sandwich was terrific.

Finally! We planned it for lunch mid-week but grandkids intervened. :)

We decided to have it for breakfast this morning, accompanied by an egg-in-pepper-ring.

I don't like rye bread and I don't eat bacon, but I definitely like peanut butter! I can see how the bacon and peanut butter would complement each other - both are salty with high fat content. I think both go with chocolate too, but not sure about the rye, lol.

Hmmmmmmmmm...thinking melted chocolate over left over bacon for lunch. :)

The first I remember hearing about peanut butter and bacon sandwiches was Way Back When, when Elvis was King. He was known to favor peanut butter and banana sandwiches, sometimes with the addition of bacon. So, being an Elvis fan, I naturally had to try it. For me, the banana was a little much, so it didn't make it past my first try. After reading this article, , I may have to try it again.

As a suggestion, to anyone who is thinking of giving Peanut Butter and Bacon a try, make sure the bacon is crispy. For some reason if the bacon isn’t crisp it just feels wrong lol.
