Comments (8)Thank you for the nice compliments. I started following the posts on this website at the time I ordered my cabinets. My remodel was made so much easier from what I learned here and since I have not been so great about posting finished pics and I so love looking at everyone else's pics, I figured it was only fair I shared too....See MoreButler's Pantry - Wood Countertop/Backsplash Question - Need Pics
Comments (8)A few ideas... Antiqued mirror ... As subtle or as blotchy as you like, for that Cafe Flore look Antique tiles ... Moroccan is so hot right now, there are some very cool encaustics, new and old. I had a link but can't find it on my iPad. For new stuff, try Tabarka Art - it could be a great space for a line up of small framed oils. I always see lovely little painting but wonder where to put them. Or specimen boxes. Or framed dishtowels or vintage textiles. Color - maybe a rich pop of color, like farrow and ball brinjal ... Enamel even....See MoreTile backsplash question - would this look weird?
Comments (5)Thanks for the replies. Palimpsest, I didn't write this in my original post, the space below the upper cabinets fits *exactly* 6 rows of tile. So if I put corner bullnose on that corner, the finished edge on the top would extend under the cabinets. Then there would be a bunch of normal field tile next to it without the bullnose edge, which might look weird. Anyway, I think I've just decided to line it up with the cabinets and be done with it (thanks for the encouragement Lake_Girl and Mary11). It'll still line up with the top and bottom cabinets (just not the counter), which I think would look fine. Plus, that outside corner takes some abuse because of where it is, and keeping the backsplash an inch in from it will help prevent the tiles from knocking loose. Thanks again for the responses....See MoreKitchen backsplash?- weird window pass thru over sink & strange walls
Comments (3)Hi. Nice home! I would 1) Have the crown molding on the cabinets changed, so that the crown reaches the ceiling 2) Have. shelving unit added to right side of the window so that you have an ending point for the tile. Would be a convenient place to have glasses anyway. 3) I'd remove the small backsplash and add a coppery-toned tile. As far as the paint color, it depends on the other elements in your home and your furniture. I don't find the paint color objectionable, but you may want something else?...See Moredaisychain Zn3b
