Sorry to have to disagree with a number of these posts, but in my opinion Bob Wine's nursery is absurdly overpriced. I would estimate that their prices are double what other nurseries in the area charge. Unfortunately most of the really fine old-line camellia nurseries in North Central Florida are long gone, but you can still find some good plants at good prices if you look on Craigs List after the first of the year. Most of these small nurseries are 75 to 100 miles north of Ocala, but I'm sure there are growers in all directions.

He workmanship is top notch.I went and had some Roman Shades and another valance for my kitchen that should be here by Fri. She is shipping today. Right now she has free shipping.That's a good chunk if you have to pay for it. Mind you the prices are for labor only. You need to buy your own fabric and liner. There are some good onlinesources. I got some from fabric guru and also from barncenterfabric. Good prices and they will ship directly to the seller. I think you have more choices this way. I know nothing about sewing, so I can't really help with that part of your question. However, my solution was a little different than yours and I'll post it to give you another option. I had a roll-down solar shade with a 5% openness factor (blackout is also available) on my sliding doors in a former home. I had a simple box valance made to hide the top and covered it with the drapery fabric. The draperies were pinch-pleated and hung on a rod above the door, but still behind the valance which allowed me to use a non-decorative rod, offsetting some of the cost of the valance. During the late afternoon, I could roll down the shade and block out much of the sun, but still have some natural light in the room. At night, I could draw the draperies across the doors to create a cozier environment.

Thank you for all suggestions thus far. We replaced the w/w with hardwood last summer & repainted the walls & trim. I was avoiding drapes or curtains in part so I wouldn't have fabric that would collect dust. The room felt so fresh and was so much easier to clean once the carpet was removed. I wanted to keep with that pared down look & feel. But I'm getting the feeling that I have to go with drapes that can be pulled together when needed if I want to also keep the blinds. I'm not in love with the blinds, but they allow light into the room on hot summer days and freezing winter ones. Otherwise, it's a couple of big windows bare to the elements with shades drawn or shades pulled down and a dark room for a good part of the year. Sheers would offer that diffused light during the day, but I definitely don't want to layer those and blackout drapes. I chose bedcovers & furnishings for this room to keep it gender neutral and wanted the same for window coverings. If you're struck with any other ideas, please let me know. Thanks -
