Some talk-to-text programs allow for the person to include punctuation. Like the person speaks, says "comma," then talks some more, then says "period." Etc. To start a new paragraph, you just say "new paragraph." It depends what program your neighbor is using though. She may be using something that would literally spell out "comma" or "period." That would be even more confusing!

Jasdip, why don’t you send your neighbor a reply, typed out as one long paragraph with no punctuation or capitalization. Perhaps if she gets a first-hand experience with it, she will see the errors of her ways.

I have a dear friend that also does that. I have to play like I am going to forward the email and then go in and make paragraphs just anywhere to have a space. Sometimes the words that come though are very funny if you figure them out. The no punctuation is what is so bad.

I'm more confused by some I've seen that insist on holding the phone in front of their face, in public, while having a conversation with a speakerphone? Why? I was glad when people stopped yelling into their phones. Now this? And it's the type of person who wears sweatpants in public (another, really? for me. I get wearing them. Just not in public).

She needs to finish each sentence with the word "period", then a period will appear. Or if a comma is needed in a sentence, she adds the word "comma" behind the word that needs the comma.

It's very important to proof read those messages before sending. A friend of mine was in a hurry to get a message to her hubby, unfortunately that's when the phone interpreted one of the words as a curse word, she was mortified.
