Comments (6)I had a very similar looking room with a very similar looking carpet and even the tile at the entry way. A rug would work over the wall to wall carpeting. DO NOT get a cheap polyester one, get a good natural fiber one. I got a great deal on a wool Persian style rug, but a woven wool or heavy cotton one would work too. Not sure about something like sisal, those were out of my price range. Otherwise a cheap olefin/polypro. one like they sell in discount stores will curl on the ends and really, really not stay put and eventually set itself in a non-flat shape you won't be able to hang/stretch back out. I started with one like that, hated it. Have a small area one like that now over our carpet, hate it again. As it is, prepare for constant rug creep no matter what, even if you get a rubbery under pad. Even if you try tacking it down. Best bet is high-end heavy carpet and just readjust every once and a while....See Moredining room Tandoori color, I need some wall or rug advice.
Comments (5)I think a fabulous rug, rich and colorful and patterned, would add a lot of depth to this lovely room. To me, something plain and neutral would just be lost, and about as interesting as a door mat. You have very light tile surrounding it all, so you can certainly have something strong. I love how these look — mix of traditional with your wonderful creativity. They look like family heirlooms with lots of history. https://www.rugsdoneright.com/products/nourison-living-treasures-li01-rust-rug https://incrediblerugsanddecor.com/collections/oriental-weavers-sedona-rug-collection/products/oriental-weavers-sedona-9592b-blue-gold-area-rug https://incrediblerugsanddecor.com/collections/top-sellers/products/karastan-spice-market-alcantara-saphire-area-rug https://incrediblerugsanddecor.com/products/loloi-javari-jv-08-berry-sunrise-area-rug...See MoreWould appreciate color advice please - I'm SO bad at it!
Comments (6)The Accessible Beige doesn't look right to me. Since you really don't have a lot of natural light it seems to me you should go lighter. Look at SW Ice Cube 6252. It's a grayish off white. In BM I suggest Paper White. Whites are tricky, so get some samples from Samplize.com, or paint some test swatches. You say you aren't good at picking colors, but this is a difficult process for everyone. Sometimes I get the right color on the first try, but when I do I'm surprised. :-) I expect to have to try 3-5 colors. Then I set myself up to be pleasantly surprised if it works out quicker. Paint comes last, so have everything installed in the bathroom before you start sampling....See Morenskhan1206
