Comments (5)I don't know how large of an accent area you are speaking of, but mother of pearl tile comes in almost pure white to beiges and tan, to hues of blue. My bathroom remodel is about to get underway. It is all ordered and demo date set. It's mostly Torreon Travertine, My sinks, tub, baseboards and doors are white. I am adding a mother of pearl tiny brick laid tile to the face of my built in shower bench. It is white with tan. I bought samples from Tilebar.com I chose mini brick oyster white. You can read the reviews and see photos of the customers who used the product. We ordered several color samples of the pearl tile and chose this one for our project. It runs $17.99 a sf sheet. Comments (26)Johnmari, Thank you for sharing about the many variations on white. Now I'm a little worried. We really don't have $ to go for custom treatments. If I go with the white, maybe I should order, try one, and then understand I may have to return? Yes. Absolutely. That was JM's point and what I assumed (and shouldn't have) you already knew. You need to have a plan to check the color before you commit. Or, as Annz said, there are many other resources out there at about the same price point as JCP where you can obtain samples before you buy. My Lowe's for instance has a nice supply of take home color samples for blinds and plantation shutters. You mention a mix of mission and contemporary - again, either would work. Someone made the point the wood tones do not reflect as much light into the space -- that is accurate. If you have abundant natural light, might not be such a concern. But if you're having trouble deciding between the two, that factor is something to consider. Exterior - Again, either can work. It's a matter of your deciding which choice, white or wood, is going to fit best with the design and look you're marching towards interior as well as exterior. Maybe make a spreadsheet and list the pros and cons of each color choice to help you see which one 'fits' best at least on paper....See MoreNeed Help w/ Blind Color
Comments (8)Since you haven't lived in the house yet, I don't know if you'll know the answer to this, but how will you use the shades? Will you pull them up fully in the daytime to let the light flood into the room? If so, I would do white so they mostly disappear into the color of the trim. If you want to use them more decoratively and will have them partially down, then you could match the wall color, but that would commit you to the same color walls for a while, or risk a mismatch. Think about if they are going to be fully down at night, whether you want to look at big patches of white in your room, or maybe have a soft gray that would blend into the walls more. It looks like you might need some privacy on the bottom part of some of the windows in one of your rooms, so I'd for sure get top town bottom up there, so you could cover just the bottom part of the windows during the day if needed. I wouldn't use a contrasting color for cellular; they seem like background to me, not a feature. You don't have to do the whole house the same color, either....See MoreRoof Color? Comments (15)IMO the tree is offensive and I love trees but the house is totally dwarfed by that tree and the light in the house must not be great with all that shade. I know lots of places do not allow tree removal but that is what I would do in this case. As for the roof I think any of those would work but since the gutters are now black I would go as dark as possible since IMO gutters are not decor items and should match the roof. I think removing the awning and replacing it with a nice black metal and glass one would be great .I would paint the shutters the same as the house since they really do nothing to enhance the home....See MoreLynn
