Thanks, prairiedawn. My style actually is more of a rustic/modern country style rather than traditional, although I have a mix of everything! I used BM Baby Turtle in the powder room and laundry room, which are adjacent to the foyer, SW Artifact in the great room, which is just beyond the foyer, and SW Believable Buff and Camelback throughout the rest of the house. roseabby, I spoke to the salesman at Macys and he also mentioned a 2'6" runner may be out of scale. The problem is I do NOT want to cover up most of the wood flooring. Would a smaller area rug placed horizontally across the front doors, rather than a larger run placed vertically in the room, look strange? The two doors are 6' wide and the entire wood entry is approx. 10' wide.

"Now I'm obsessing over the minutaie." Now?! :-D I guess I never asked, and can't tell from the drawing, if the pantry is white or the old plan of stainless around glass. I guess from what's said (and you may have told me before) that it's white. I think the inset is a good choice, so that it goes with the other white cabs. I was teasing, too, Lascatx, although glass shelves, unless they can be different than I'm thinking (1/4" thick and rattly), don't feel right to me and I like stainless to tie with the freezer or white wood shelves. Like I said, though, you may have a whole different image in mind concerning the glass.

Well, I'm a HW fan but we have more handmade rugs than we do rooms, LOL. HW is a better seller, but you need a top-quality finish on it, such as Bona or Swedish. Refinishing HW can be almost as expensive as new W2W (and you have to move furniture out for either). Carpet HIDES dust/hair better, but a lot of dirt filters down through it. You are right that it's a lot 'cozier', though. We have a downstairs Master suite and it is the coldest room in the house. We did put in W2W for that 'comfort factor.' However, that was 25 yrs ago. The carpet's disgusting now--permanently stained, flattened nap. My allergies have gotten worse over the years, and I suspect the carpet isn't helping the issue no matter how often it's vacuumed. We have the original red oak flooring upstairs from 1940 in the LR/DR/frt bdrm,. It was refinished with oil-based polyurethane in 1990 (good water-based poly wasn't on the market yet). It is still in beautiful condition and ridiculously easy to maintain. That said, I think it's clear your heart belongs to W2W. Even if you eventually sell your home, it isn't a given that HW floors are a guaranteed "sell". HW is nice, people love and appreciate it, but if other factors are positive for your home - layout, location, cleanliness, good maintenance - your home will sell even with W2W. So unless you absolutely know you are going to sell your home by a specific time, go with what you love.

This is a pretty room with too much Hobby Lobby decor. You've got vases of sticks in display niches. Reminds me of a hotel lobby. Find something you love and want to look at every day to put there.
