Catching up and the latest acquisitions

I am back from my trip to Maryland and the Free State Daylily Society sale and auction. It was a generally successful trip. I came back with the following plants: BIG HEARTED LADY (another Bennett pink - Missed out on Drum Boogie as the person grabbed both double fans that were for sale. I spoke with the seller and he said he had more.), RAYGUN GOTHIC (an interesting spidery one), SAWTOOTH RIDGE, CLIFFJUMPER, IT'S A RAGE, and JEFFERSON'S LEGACY. I missed out on TROUBLE IN PARADISE, as there was only one fan and I got into a bidding war with my usual opponent and I knew he wouldn't stop out bidding me, so I dropped out at $50.

Linda Gluck has been slow to establish here, so look forward to getting the nice blooms you have. Cliffjumper--that will be interesting to see. Jungle Beauty I didn't like. As I recall, it had small blooms, messy bloom, few blooms; but it multiplied well.

Virginia and nastarana, thank you for your suggestions. Due to the drought and heat which global warming will only exacerbate, I've cut down on the number of roses and have no room for one of these lovelies. I did know about Pleasant Hill Cemetery and Manchester Guardian Angel, having seen one or both on the Vintage site, but frankly neither of them would be my first choice. I had a few beautiful blooms of Mrs. Wood's Lavender Pink Noisette before she succumbed to a hot summer, and something similar would be my ideal. I hope to feed my fondness for the noisettes by seeing pictures here from those people who are lucky enough to grow them well. Ingrid

Oh, very, very nice. I really like all of them, but Golliwog and Beautiful Edgings always are favorites for me. I can only shake my head about Wild Horses when I see other people's pretty pictures and I think about the pitiful plant of it in our garden, may be a goner next year. Avedon

That's a very nice looking cabinet. Does the enamel top have the original paint? Looks brand new. Curious to know what "a good deal" would be on a cabinet these days. I have a cabinet that I bought about 20 years ago from an antiques store. I think I got it for around $100. It still has it's flour bin inside. I had to repaint it (red) and I used the cabinet as a decorative piece in my sons nursery. Then when he was older, in his bathroom. In our previous house, the piece was in the downstairs family room (see photo). Now, it sits in my garage. I need to get it inside. I have the perfect place for it in an upstairs den.

Good morning, All! thanks for the compliments - and I do hope Marrakech finds its way into more gardens. It's not the "latest" but the greatest today! ;-) Hostahosta, it ends up just a bit greener if more shaded but last year it greened up less. I'll look for a late season pic...
