My latest acquisition

My latest rose-ish acquisition isn't actually a plant- it's a book: 'Noisette Roses: 19th Century Charleston's Gift to the World'.

It's a pretty paperback book, published in 2009, but I only recently found out about it, and ordered it from a local indie bookstore. Perhaps some of you ran out and got a copy when it was first published, but if you didn't, and if you have any interest in Noisettes and Tea-Noisettes, I recommend that you track down a copy.

At 86 pages, it isn't a weighty tome, but has good info, lovely photos and the contributors know their stuff. The book was published by USC Press (no, not that west-coast USC...) on behalf of the Charleston Horticultural Society, and has a list price of $17. ISBN = 9780615251110

I did check the archives looking for previous references to this book, but didn't find anything. It's worth mentioning again, though, if I just missed an earlier discussion.

Cheers,
Virginia
