Suggestions on how to decorate Split Level Foyer Wall
Comments (9)I think you could do personal pictures there if you want. I don't have any suggestions as to what photo. Just make sure really love them! Since they're expensive and I would have a hard time committing to a large canvas photo for an extended period of time, here's an idea (see link). I think three of these would be too small for the space and it would look better as a grouping. If nothing else you could tape up the form core (poster board would work better) just to get an idea of size and what you think of something up there. There are a lot of photo layout ideas online. If you do use photos, I would go with all black and white or maybe sepia tone. (Quick fyi - After reading the tutorial again, down in the comment, these are engineering prints and can only be printed in b&w.) Comments (44)suzyq53, lol. Every house has it's own personality, doesn't it? From where I am sitting (dining room, open to foyer), I see FOURTEEN arches throughout the house. The foyer you see in the picture is an octagon shape. The man who built this house also built and lived in the house next door, and just recently moved over one more lot and built another house with...arches. Mediterranean would definitely describe the style. There are other things I would have done differently had I been building the house myself, but for the price we paid (and how it fits our family, and all the other great things about it), I'll certainly take it. ;)...See MoreNeed advice for tile on shower niche
Comments (59)Catlady999 the light over the shower was installed by a licensed electrician who was doing a bunch of other work in the house but thank you for bringing that up! *Update* good news: my mom said she's going to tell the guy to stop working in the bathroom area and just focus on getting the other things (painting, drywall) so hopefully this means we'll be getting a real professional who knows what they're doing!...See Moreneed advice for lighting in entrance foyer
Comments (16)You have a lovely foyer and the sconces you purchased will look GREAT! I think you shouldn't stop at replacing the sconces. Sorry but your chest of drawers, chairs, portrait and flower arrangement kind of look like a funeral home. I would remove all these things and hang a large floor to ceiling mirror between the sconces and replace the rug with something current and perhaps round to echo the curved staircase and the curved wall. And that's it. You have some lovely architectural details in your foyer, don't distract from them by adding more stuff. If you replace your ceiling light fixture, can you replace with a light in the same family as the sconces?...See Morejuliacali
