Bud count
Comments (4)How are you getting bud counts of 98? You must be counting buds on all the scapes. Bud count means the buds on ONE scape. You count up buds on each scape and of course they will not be exactly the same. Then give a range or average....See MoreN daylilies 2019
Comments (26)Hoosier Nan: I like the color combination on Now or Never in your picture much better then on the database......Aaron: Newberry Touch looks to be a greyed lavender. Reminds me of Blueberry Breakfast and Teddy Bear's Picnic a bit. Nice...........I'll add one Emmerich to the list. It's pretty, but does loose some of it's color by mid PM in our heat. Probably does much better up north. No More Tears: Maryl...See MoreFavorite Bicolor and Bitone Daylilies of 2019
Comments (39)Thanks, Nancy for posting a pic of your seedling. Not sure whether your seedling takes after RR or CHarmed Existence because the pollen parent is a bitone too. Nancy and Signet, you are very kind! Wolverine X Van Helsing has nice branching and maybe 20+ buds. The only problem is that it is a late bloomer and blooms a lot at once so its bloom season lasts about 2 weeks. I have yet to see rebloom on it but it is currently in the seedling bed which is not a good place for it being crowded and competed with weeds and tree roots. Next year when I move it out, I hope it will show some rebloom. I have found that drought definitely dampens the chance for rebloom. Thanks Sherry for posting Little Jetsetter's size. I am a bit confused. Is it 15" or 3 1/4" ? Anyway, I love your pic of it and I really like to add it to my garden. Celeste, I somehow miss Lotus Position. That's a beautiful one too! Love its name!...See MoreBest Budded Daylilies of 2020
Comments (58)Updating some of my bud counts based on bud scars: August Frost x Winter's Angel has overtaken the yellow seedling as my No. 1 bud king with 47 buds. I think it's done bud building now, but we'll see. The yellow seedling turned out to have 41 buds, and Seedling "Leonard" finished with 34. August Frost X Winter's Angel -47 Destined to See x Back Scratcher Seedling - 41 Leonard - 34 Debra...See Moresherrygirl zone5 N il
