An oddity in the seedling trays

Every year we had a seedling or two bloom really early. Most of the time they are about 4 months or more old. If we see the scape before it is fully developed, we will pick it off. If it is fully developed, we let it bloom. The scape doesn't amount to much, usually only one bud and sometimes just two petals instead of three.

This year I was surprised to see a seedling less than two months old trying to bloom. The cross is Empire of Dawn and Dusk X (Cherry Pie a la Mode X Rosie with a Ring). I removed the scape.
