Laundry Room Dilemma
Comments (3)Do you have a sink down there? It would be nice to have one in that counter possibly. Another thought would be to move the washer next to the dryer. Paint the cupboards, maybe take the doors off a few of the lowers to house laundry baskets. Can you paint that PVC pipe? I have no idea if that is possible or even recommended. Is your ironing board in the tall cabinet? can you rig a place for the iron too, to get it off the counter. Do you have shut off valves for the washer, and are they easily accessible. Is the dryer gas or electric? Is the dryer vent easy to access for cleaning. If it was me, I'd have ridged ducting instead of the flex, as I believe the air flow is more efficient. Some sort of drying or hanging rack or rod....See MorePantry and laundry room tile dilemma

Comments (3)A folding table would be more trouble than it is worth. Unfolding the table, setting it up and then having to fold it up again and stash it would be a royal PITA. Adding that table height seems a bit low to comfortably fold clothes, that folding tables can be irritatingly wobbly and that a table large enough to be useful (i.e., larger than a card table) would be awkward, difficult to find a place to store and perhaps heavy. And you'll be bending over to unlock and unfold the table legs anyway so you'll not be saving yourself from that movement. I would rather bend over to load & unload the machines than deal with all of that. OTOH, if you have sufficient vacant wall space, you could install one of those table tops that fold up or down against the wall when not needed....See MoreMud/Laundry Room Dilemma
Comments (7)Do you really NEED a 'huge master closet'? Or could you just work on your hoarding problem. ;-) You want to trade off lugging laundry up and down stairs out to the garage for a bit more storage? If the laundry room is that big, how about just shrinking it a bit for more closet space? Stack the washer and dryer. I'd much rather avoid schlepping laundry up and down stairs all the time. People pay extra to have their laundry up near the bedrooms and you want to give that up? Will it make a difference in resale value? Probably, especially if people expect a 3-car garage in your neighborhood. And you'll have 3 garage doors with only 2 usable ones; people will think that looks stupid and it might turn them off from the house....See MoreLil S
