We have designed some beautiful laundry room cabinets over the years. The best advice we can give for creating a functional, pretty laundry room is to design it to fit your individual needs. But for specific ideas, we love these three laundry rooms: We love the bright, cheerful vibe in this laundry room, as well as the deep farmhouse sink, folding station, rolling laundry carts, and hanging rods. Obviously, the double-stacked washer and dryers are a huge bonus as well. The counter space in this laundry room is one of the best features of the space, giving you plenty of room to fold laundry. We also love the sink close by the washer, and the ample storage in this space. While this isn’t a laundry “room” we wanted to point out the benefits of adding a stacked washer and dryer with custom cabinetry built around the appliances. Not only can you easily conceal the washer and dryer with the pull-out front, but the drawers and cabinet offer storage for laundry supplies. Ultimately, our biggest recommendations for a great laundry room are a folding space (counter space), closed storage, a sink, and drying racks (either a rod or a pull out- it depends on how much you hang to dry).

I understand the interest in cheery and fun but I also think beyond cabinet colour or wall colour there isn’t much to do in a utilitarian space. Our mudroom is also laundry room. We will have one wall with sink, washer, dryer. Extra fridge. Then the other wall will be cabinetry for coats and bags. We will be using the ikea pax system. I’m not settled on door colour yet. On the wall, where a window could go but I don’t want one, there will be hooks and trays for wet boots. My life with three kids has taught me that boot trays are necessary!

Yes and yes. Basically anything so my kids dont have to go outside and get eaten by bugs or laundry get rained. Just want access from the inside. I thought along those same lines. Opening up my room that joins the Laundry room. We called numerous contractors and all seem to come up with the same...55k not counting/considering the structure engineer, planner and every Tom Rick and harry that wants a chunk out of my money. I said forget it, considering that I bought my house for 110k and to knock down a wall or cement a wall to enclose it would be almost half of the cost of the house???!!!
