please help me choose a vanity light
Comments (9)Sue's looks good. I think the width is only an issue if its going to be the only light source. Will you have recessed lighting too? If so, 2 or 3 lights will work. If not, maybe you will need 3. It's funny b/c option C doesn't have the yellow tint like option A... I think the yellow tint could look all wrong if your color scheme is whites, grays, chromes (cool colors). If it's painted and tiled in beiges / creams (warm tones) a yellow tinted light would be good. What color are your walls? Just to give you more to consider, just because other things are chrome in your bathroom, doesn't mean the light has to have any chrome on it. Can you post a picture of your bathroom? Is there a way to change my settings such that I'll get an email notifying me of a reply to a thread I'm in, such as this one, even though I didn't start it?...See MoreHelp choosing bathroom colors - vanity and walls
Comments (14)nosoccermom, I have considered it, I saw your posts about it and yours looks great! I ordered the samples though and none really looked good in my rooms. The colors that company has are too busy and/or dark for these bathrooms, especially with the existing floor. However I did find some patterned vinyl contact papers I am considering - they have some other granite patterns and terrazzo and marble, too! Check these out: Terrazzo marble brown marble I just am having hard time envisioning an overall color scheme for some reason, I don't want to decide on the countertop without considering the floor and how the wall color will tie it together....See MoreHelp choosing vanity top and tile colors in bathroom
Comments (10)Well, I'd say you can easily recreate it. I think your inspiration picture bath has porcelain tiles..there is plenty of choice in the stores nowadays. If you pick white, or white and gray(like in certain marble or quartz that mimics it) countertop for the vanity, and do light gray porcelain tiles for example..you can go with bigger tiles for a modern look, or with smaller, for more traditional one. Porcelain tiles often also have texture that creates more friction-important in a place that gets wet. White and black or white and gray floor will look wonderful too, but probably a bit harder to keep clean. You can do this "chess board" look, or hex mosaics, or basketweave-I think it might look very cool in your house. But if you prefer one color on the floor-it will work perfectly well too. I'm saying "gray" because in my opinion it will play with a color of the vanity very nicely; I love this juxtaposition, but it can be anything really. What is the color of your hardwood floors? PS I don't think a white vanity is safer than any other vanity..:) It really depends on your preference, and on the house itself. But I must say-if you really love white, generally speaking, your choice immediately expands. I love colors-when it comes to materials, it gets trickier and more expensive. White and black or white and gray, or white and blue-that's where you have a sea of choices. Without overpaying. It is just so classic, and it's everywhere, and you can play with it to no end....See MoreHelp me choose tile and a vanity please!
Comments (51)That looks a lot better Jeanne! May I suggest one tweak? The wood shelving unit is a bit deep for the narrowness of the room. What if you did a tall row of wall mounted shelves like this - they could start 12” above the floor and even go higher than the mirror in order to give you the storage you need. Just a thought to help visually widen the room :)...See MoreBeth H. :
