Help me choose tile, please! Pics included
Comments (9)I like #2 but not the floor tile. I feel you should use the marble for the floor that's in the mosaic for continuity. Your floor tile choice has too much gold in it and doesn't match. If you don't want to use real marble for the floor there are many porcelain copies. If this porcelain marble matches it would be very pretty with it. The veining also picks up the light color. Comments (16)Thanks everyone! I didn't think it would so difficult to choose floor tile, wow! All the tiles I showed are porcelain by Surface Art. Individually, I prefer the travertine and slate look ones BUT I think we have so much going on in the kitchen that I think the two quartz-look ones (light grey & dark grey) are the better choices overall for our space. The problem is I wish there were an option that was halfway between the two grey colors! I do like how the dark quartz looks with our other choices, but am having trouble envisioning it in the entire space and am concerned it's dark enough that it would show every little speck and crumb. The light one seems a bit too light, and seems to tend to the blue side at some times of day. I'm heading back to the tile shop now to see if there's an in between option in another tile brand... Linelle -- our cabinets are through a local shop. The name of the stain is "Late Harvest" (on rustic beech, it looks a lot like natural cherry color) and the paint is "shoji white". If you're in eastern WA / Idaho, let me know and I'll send more info about the shop. thanks everyone! Michelle...See MorePlease help me choose my backsplash tile

This is not at all what you've been looking at, but I just have to show it to you. I love that mosaic, and it could work for you in the horizontal application throughout the kitchen, but it is miles away from what you're drawn to. OK, now that that's out of my system, here's what I think might work for you on the subtler side. The tile below is a mesh mounted mosaic and the sheet measures about 10.5" x 11", so you get an idea of the tile size, very roughly, 3" w x 4" t. The solid color field tile below in the same glaze (light green) is available in square and subway formats in a variety of sizes. I think in order to keep the look cohesive you should either keep the color the same and use a different shape for the special areas, or keep the shape the same and use a harmonizing, deeper color for the special areas. So, you could choose a light green brick subway for your counter area, and a light green ogee mosaic for the special areas. Or, you could use the ogee everywhere, in yellow quartz for the counter areas, and light green for the special spots....See MoreHelp me choose my front entry porch tile, please
Comments (80)Well, painting our doors is taking much more time than anticipated! Partly bc we decided to take them off to lay flat and spray for a smoother finish. Plus my husband decided to work on building our shed yesterday so i had to wait for help on a few occasions. But we need a shed so that’s ok! Prep took forever bc the doors are not in great shape. And those darn windows! But I got both doors prepped and we sprayed 1 coat of primer on 1 door. But then couldn’t move it right away and then had to hang them before dark! So we will finish this weekend! I’ll post pics when done. Thank you!...See MoreJeanne S
