wow, I find this thread interesting because where I live and where I grew up (both in NY state) noone had glass shower doors unless it was just a shower and not a bath. Everyone has curtains here. My brother does too and he has a brand new house that was finished a year ago about. I have never even thought about putting glass doors on the bathtubs. Personally (but you can tell I am biased!) I don't think there is anything wrong w/ a curtain. You can wash them and change the look of the entire bathroom by changing them. You can get really fancy ones or cheapo ones or make your own! (which I did). I also like how you can get opaque ones and shut the curtain when guests are over so they won't know you didn't clean your shower in a couple days, well unless they peak at it that is! -rj

Personally, I love shower curtains--and agree with all those with similar frustration about keeping glass doors clean. I recently tried the Double Shower Hook and really love it. I hang a fabric liner on the inner hooks, and dressier curtain on the outer hook. The weight of both easily keeps the hook on the rod. The inner liner is soooo easy to detach and throw in the wash as often as needed. The outer curtain can be classic, transitional, tone-on-tone, funky, eclectic, fun--whatever you want. If teenagers will be your primary users--I would definitely choose a curtain (they will never squeegee glass will they?) Let them choose something fun and funky for now, and you can tone it down with a new curtain later, when they move out.

We are getting ready to retile our neoangle shower in our master bath. After dealings nag with the nightmares of cleaning glass doors (and the ones that are supposed to not spot), we are wanting to go with a shower curtain. We have a country style bathroom that also has a claw foot tub, so we are wanting something that will fit that look. If anyone is using a shower curtain along with a neoangle shower rod, I'd love to hear your feedback. Thanks in advance!

I have a wheelchair accessible shower - no lip whatsoever. I use a heavy vinyl shower curtain from Hammacher Schlemmer here. It does not billow outward whatsoever. It billows inward just a bit. I have never had any water exit the shower using either the traditional wall shower head or the rain shower in the center of the shower. My trench drain is right under where the shower curtain hangs. My curtain just hits the floor. You could do a few things if you have a lighter shower curtain liner. You can add weights to the bottom of the curtain by sewing them into a hem on a fabric curtain. These Pie Weights would work for that, if you get enough. They are 10" each, so maybe you get three and place one on each end and one in the middle. Lead fishing weights might be easiest because they have a slot in them, through which you can put thread to sew them in place. You may be able to side the shower curtain fabric into a slot, I don't know. Or you can hot glue or sew weights to the bottom of a shower curtain on the outside of the curtain. If you get pairs of magnets, you can add weight to a hem by placing magnets on either side of the fabric, with the back side of one magnet locking onto the front side of another on the other side of the fabric. Or use these steel washers on one side of the curtain and rare earth magnet on the other side. Or these sets that give you the magnet, a steel cup to hold it, and a steel washer for it to hold onto. That sounds pretty heavy. The steel cup may help keep the magnet from attaching to your wheelchair if it gets too close.
