Dressing Up the Bath: Cool Shower Curtains
The other day, as I was picking up the toys my son had thrown out of the bathtub (again), I noticed that the shower curtain was getting a little grimy. It's time for a new one.
Seems like a simple job, right? Run to Target, choose from the dozens of cute designs and replace? Unfortunately, that's not the case.
After several very frustrating hours checking out my options online, I came to the conclusion that most shower curtains fall into one of three categories. They're either boring, hideous, or downright creepy. I'm not quite sure who's buying the Psycho-themed curtains, but somebody must keep their producers in business.
Fortunately, my hours scouring the internet weren't all for naught. If you look hard enough, you can find some cute curtains out there. You just have to try. Or just click on these links:

IKEA always delivers. This polka dotted shower curtain is simple and cute and a great palette to build a room around.
I like this simple, abstract design and subtle colors. It looks clean and won't overwhelm a room.
This curtain is made (simply) from two beach towels. I like these colors and the design - and I like the idea that any beach towel could be turned into a shower curtain!
Marimekko has some great shower curtain options - like this fun, bright design.
Sometimes simple and clean is best. This hotel-style curtain is available from Restoration Hardware in many accent colors.
A Union Jack shower curtain is a perfect match for the "keep calm and carry on" bathroom.
This toile shower curtain is accented with grosgrain ribbon - pretty and perfectly feminine.
Also for the feminine bathroom, this simple shower curtain reminds me of overgrown eyelet.
I love this shower curtain designed by artist James Marshall - it's so funky and original.
