Master Bedroom Floorplan Review
Comments (58)Ll, yes bedroom 4 will be for one of my children. Certainly some less privacy…I know you were kidding but you now have me thinking. (bpa no need to blush…even three kids later… lol…) I wonder how unusual it is to not have the master suite on its own. Most floor plans I’m looking at do have a separate adult’s only section. I'm not sure what to do with that small closet. Linens, winter clothes, probably stuff I don't need every day. As for the plumbing on the outside wall I wasn’t sure how to place all the plumbing on the inside wall and have room for a door. After reading your comment though, I searched online and found a workable solution namely, placing the toilet and sink on the top wall and the bath tub on the bottom wall. Thanks for catching that, (again). And good catch on the knee breaker WC door:) Bpa, good point on the dust issues… I think the shower is far enough away from the tub so that only the lower right side of the tub would get wet. If not, there is always the hand held sprayer for a quick hose down. I think I like the look of that open shower and curbing plus the dry floor elsewhere that I will hopefully learn to get along with the dust bunnies. As for doors in bed room 3 and 4, great suggestion...less congestion in the hallways is a plus but it does move a swinging door into some valuable real estate. I need to give that some thought. Thanks again for the help:) xoxoxo Mary...See MoreNeed input on master bedroom and bathroom layout and floorplan. Thx!
Comments (10)Can you solve the door issue for Room C by making it an outswing? When open it would then be against the wall with what I assume is some kind of air return / chase. In your bathroom you might also gain some privacy for the toilet by pushing the shower up towards the closet and then putting the toilet on the shower side. Then you can put the linen closet or cabinet across from the toilet (that could also hold toilet paper for when you realize you're out ;) Would be shallower but the back of a 40" deep linen closet would probably be fairly inaccessible anyway. Would perhaps be less private when using the vanity because of the mirror, but do you generally use the toilet when someone else is in the room anyway?...See MoreFloor Plan - Master Bedroom Closets
Comments (21)How about this? This eliminates 2 of the corners. I gave you another window which will provide natural light to the closet, and also more light to the bedroom. You could each have one wall, and flip a coin for the short wall, or divide it up any way you choose. My husband and I share one long WICC. One long side is double-hung. My husband has the upper level since he's taller, and I have the lower one. The opposite side is set up for long clothes for part of it, some other open storage, and the laundry basket. We don't have hanging storage on the short wall, because you lose too much in the corners. Instead we have a dresser, and above it is my costume jewelry pinned on fabric-covered foam board. I also combined your laundry room and pantry to give you one large utility room. You'll have more pantry shelf space than in the current plan, plus plenty of floor space, enough for a long narrow table in the middle of the room. You'll use it for sorting and folding laundry, and as a landing space for groceries as you bring them into the house. I have a table like this in my laundry area. You'll love it. You also now have room for a laundry sink if you want one....See MoreHow much does a floorplan design cost (bedroom bathroom closet)
Comments (3)If you post the current layouts with detailed measurements and any must-haves, nice-to-haves, etc, you can get a lot of great advice here from professionals and other folks with talent in design. You may have difficulty finding someone who will do a plan for you who is not also involved in doing the work. Or you may be able to find a designer who'll do a plan for a set fee. Just remember when you start remodeling anything, there are always 1000 decisions and problems that pop up along the way. Are you prepared to deal with that as a DIYer?...See Morecostaremodel
