Do you have an air purifier?
Comments (11)Well, the stove is a fixture in the room...set on an elevated brick hearth. My only other option 'someday' is to switch it to gas. That would be costly since I do not have a gas hook -up and would need a tank, a line run to the house, and a new stove. It a very nice stove - a Vermont Castings - and is designed to be an attractive piece...it is nice and I love the heat, I just dont like the dust. It is actually the spent ashes that make the dust. I figure a good filtering system would go a long way before replacing the stove and wouldn't hurt to have even if the stove was not operational (like summer) I have mostly hardwood floors and where there is carpet I shampoo them twice a year. Chisue, yes you're right it has to be bad for my lungs (my cats too)....if it is leaving a fine dust hours after I clean...well I have to be breathing it. I just want to eliminate as much as I can without taking a second mortgage or resorting to 100% electric heat (which is ridiculous $$$) The link is my stove...the builder of my house put on his site years ago Thanks again for any and all advice for the air filters! Here is a link that might be useful: this is it......See MoreSorry kitchen folks- Do you have a Air or Jetted Bath Tub?
Comments (12)I have a large 2 person jacuzzi 6 foot tub. It is the bellavista. It has 8 jets and an in-line heater. The heater is a must as the water stays nice and hot. I love the big tub and am planning on getting a maax kashmir freestanding tub for my new home. It has air & jets. The new tubs have the drains for the jets at an angle so they drain better. That was the problem with most of the bacteria build up. My tub is about 5 years old. I also have an outdoor hot tub that I can't live without. I have chronic pain and they both do wonders for my health. I highly recommend them both. I know that the big tubs take up a lot of room in a bathroom, but it all comes down to want you want. It is a choice that I have been very happy with....See MoreDo You Have A Jenn-Air French Door Fridge?Would You Recommend It?
Comments (9)It's good to hear a variety of opinions on the Jenn-Air fridge. Chicgoans, yours might be three years old but Whirlpool sticks with a design for many years, no doubt it's not too different for Jenn-Air. We have lots of freezing going on in our current Whirlpool fridge, but I think a lot of that has to do with the constant opening and closing that goes on with a family of nine.... we must keep the temp down to keep the cabinet cold enough for the milk to taste good, but it freezes lettuce and strawberries. Even our eggs, sometimes. sskit: Where did you buy yours? You got a fabulous deal - what a price! I'm looking at $2900 as the lowest so far for the 72" CD french door fridge. That is so much money, but I have to have the SS all the way around the cabinet. I'm thinking this recession should have more of a downward pressure on appliance prices! Thanks to all who replied. Any other opinions or recommendations?...See MoreDo you have a air fryer?
Comments (25)Air "frying" is not necessarily healthier than deep frying if you are using frozen pre-battered "oven ready" products. Many of these products have a lot of fat in them and the coatings to promote crispness and browning. More than would be absorbed by properly deep frying the same item in its non "oven ready" form at the correct frying temperature. The only way to achieve fried foods is to either have the fats outside the food or in the food. Anything else is convention roasting or baking....See Morebleusblue2
