I do have a couple, both twin and queen, but they are in storage in the attic. I'll see if I can find out what brand when I get home. Both are high so that they are normal bed height when inflated. I do recommend getting a mattress pad to go with it (foam is best), as this makes them much more comfortable.

You can find some that inflate to the height of a normal bed but there are also ones that are on folding legs. I would rather sleep on the floor than either one. If it is full enough not to move it is too hard. If not full they tend to either have a dip in the middle or the outside edge is soft and you will end up on the floor if you are not careful. I do second the pad and blankets because that air tends to be cold after a while.

Air mattresses tend to feel cold when you sleep on them. I, too, suggest a topper and pad to insulate your guest from the chill. Ours is not tall, but DH & I were both pretty agile during the time we used it. I'd probably find it difficult to get off of now, as they tend to push away when you push to get up.

Hi Lars -- I looked it up and it looks fine. Amazon has it online and even with this one there were complaints about leakage but customer service was praised to the skies. I wish I could buy it in Canada but Amazon does deliver. I agree about the cold mattress as I have slept on one a few years ago and had to put my coat under the sheet. This aspect isn't often mentioned but maybe everybody takes it for granted. I have seen Coleman listed in Canada and a few other brands but there are SO MANY complaints about leaking! Still researching. thanks!

The high ones are so much better. I highly suggest not getting a twin for an adult. You really need the extra room on one of those. At least get a double. It has a raised edge to try to keep you from rolling out so the actual center flat part becomes pretty small on the twin. Flocked top is much warmer.

We have a queen sized Swissgear by Wenger, maker of swiss army knives, watches, luggage, backpacks and other travel accessories. It inflates/deflates quickly and we have had no leakage problems. I make it up like a regular bed and have found it to be quite comfortable. Our air mattress is about the height of a regular mattress and box spring stacked on the floor without a frame.

Another thing I like about air mattresses is that they are light and easy to move. If you don't have a guest room and have to set it up in a high traffic area such as a living room, they can easily be moved out of the way during the day simply by leaning against a wall or moving to another room.

I have an EZ bed from Frontgate. I've had it for about 15 years with no issues. I put a memory foam topper and quilted mattress cover on it before adding sheets and it's pretty darn comfortable. I love that it folds and unfolds by itself and can be stored away in a closet. I keep the extra foam topper on my other guest bed when the EZ bed isn't in use.

I agree with the poster who suggested getting at least a queen-sized bed as a twin-sized bed isn't really big enough for an adult unless they are the size of a child.

I have a Serra air mattress. It has a built in pump. The top is kind of velvety. It’s surprisingly comfy and has held up well. My neighbors like to borrow it!

I’ve slept on them several times. I do not find them comfortable, but they are better than the floor. As mentioned above you need good padding under the bottom sheet otherwise the sleeper will be too cold. You can use a folded blanket. It is helpful to have the higher version.

Just give your company plenty of adult beverages before bedtime and they will be able to sleep anywhere!

I have a funny air mattress story. One of my neighbors needed someone to house her two kids( six and seven yr old boys) over night. I had a bed and an air mattress. they chose the air mattress in the living room. We blew it up (part of the charm) with the vac in reverse and I settled them in with topper, blankets and pillows. I checked on them in the night and covered them up again but in the morning they had slid off and sprawled across the floor. It looked like it had rained little boys. I woke them up laughing.
