We went to several kitchen and bath showrooms when we were building our homes (one for us and one for my Mom and Dad)
My son who is 6'4" and has mobility issues (uses a cane and mobility scooter) actually researched tons of them before we went to look. We went with the Maax. We are VERY happy with our tubs. Here is a link to them.

As an aside--and I'm sure all of you know this already but it came as a surprise to me--you have to make sure you're specifying heated jets. My boss just bought a tub and no one told her that the default was unheated jets, so she was surprised to be sitting in her new tub and feeling the water getting cold really fast. I never would have guessed to even ask, since, like my boss, I would have just assumed that since it's a bathtub, meant to be used with hot water, the jets wouldn't be shooting out cold!

I've already taken out one jetted tub, and when I get around to renovating the master bath, will take out that one. I think the jets are kind of yucky-- you can't clean there. Also, my jetted tubs are fiberglass, which I dislike. Maybe some jetted tubs are porcelain but I haven't seen one.

I have a small (5') air jet tub. When I do the bath in our other house... I will definitely get another one. I did not want a whirlpool type because I like to use bath oils and salts. You can't on those... clogs up the plumbing. The air jet is nothing to clean since they're little pinholes. I have a somewhat low end one but it does have an integral heater. I LOVE LOVE LOVE it My next one I want to step up a bit. I stil only have 5' of space but that works since I'm only 5' tall. GO for it!

I have a large 2 person jacuzzi 6 foot tub. It is the bellavista. It has 8 jets and an in-line heater. The heater is a must as the water stays nice and hot.
I love the big tub and am planning on getting a maax kashmir freestanding tub for my new home. It has air & jets. The new tubs have the drains for the jets at an angle so they drain better. That was the problem with most of the bacteria build up. My tub is about 5 years old.
I also have an outdoor hot tub that I can't live without.
I have chronic pain and they both do wonders for my health. I highly recommend them both.
I know that the big tubs take up a lot of room in a bathroom, but it all comes down to want you want. It is a choice that I have been very happy with.

I don't use the jets that often, but I'm glad they're there when I need them. :o)

We have a Jetta, whirlpool, which I love. I was sold on it because there is no heater, but the tub is so well insulated that it is guarenteed to hold the temp for 1/2 hour before losing any heat. And it is quiet in comparison to some. Losing heat has never been a problem, it outlasts me.

My only caution is to try the tub out, and make sure it fits. You'll know it when you feel it. The other thing to look out for is arms, if you like to read in the tub. They are great.

Air jetted tubs create more of an all over body massage while water jetted tubs tend to hit specific areas of your body. Water jetted tubs have problems with algae and slime that build up in the jets. Must be routinely maintained. Air jetted tubs have none of those maintenance issues. Bain Ulta is the leader in air tubs. It was quieter than the Maxx tub I compared it with. They are acrylic instead of fiberglass. An option I went with is chromatherapy (colored lights in the tub).

Thank you! The cabs are Starmark American Cherry Brittany finish. I am really happy with them. They are easy to clean and don't show the dirt and smears even though they are fairly dark.
