I have recently invested in an Aquatic Airjet Serenity 2, but it is not yet installed. The most that I can personally tell you is that my contractor guys sat it out on the patio to test it for leaks, and we all stood around smiling watching the 'effervescent bubbles' fizz. It passed the leak test and "it works!" test with flying colors. I took pictures ... it was a milestone in my remodel... something worked! Just kidding. :)

I will tell you what the friend who recommended Aquatic to me said however. She loves it. Said the bubbles sensation from an Airjet are amazing, very relaxing. I have heard that the blower on an Aquatic is fairly quiet; that the water bubbling makes a greater sound than the blower. Also the '600 Watt Air Heating System' that comes with the product insures that you feel only WARM air entering the tub. Someone who has another product posted that the air entering her tub was cold and she would have preferred not feeling that sensation.

However, important to me was not having to be concerned about bacteria from water circulating through the tubes that sometimes occurs with a hydro jetted tub. Although there are cleansing tablets that you can use to clean a jetted tub, I did not want to have to remember to do that. Airjets only use a blower to blow air into the tub, causing the "champagne bubbles" and then after use, a blower comes on to 'dry out' the system.

In your case, you would like a hydro-massage, as well. I have heard only good reports about Aquatic, which is why I puchased, and the Infinity Series offers both. I don't think the cleansing issue is a big deal for conscientious people, I just don't want to be conscientious anymore. :) In another month, I hope to be able to give you a personal recommendation. We have the Aquatic Infinity III - and DH LOVES it. He has severe back probs (multiple surgeries lower back & unoperable upper back) and truly finds the whole tub relaxing. And even though it's a 1 person tub - it's big enough for 2 face to face if you want to chat (DH is 6'1" 218 lb & I'm 5'6" 125 so you know which end I get-just for fun) - I had a Jacuzzi about 15 yrs ago in another house and swore I wouldn't do another water jetted tub with the black scurvies so I wanted the air. But the air tubs just didn't have enough "oomph" for DH. So when researching this tub it does an automatic air blast through the tubes after the tub is drained to dry them out. We've had the tub about 2 yrs now and I've got to say it's been great.

Thanks mommielady and annie. Do you like the way the tub sits? Is it comfortable on your back? Someone in this forum posted that they didn't like the way the back was reclined for them. Also, do you have any back or neck jets and how do you like those? Do you feel the tub was a good purchase?

I am trying to decide if we want to spend an extra $4000 over our building budget on a really nice jetted tub or stay in an lower price range for one with less jets.

I would say that a $4000 dilemma is pretty sizeable. My tub has no hyro-jets at all, only air jets because that is what I wanted. I have heard that the air tubs give a more relaxing, tingling, effervescent feeling than do the jetted tubs. If your husband needs the therapeutic power of a hydro-massage then of course, you should invest in one, if it is within your budget.

I think your question is, "Is it worth it?" Annie 1956 can speak better to the effectiveness of the hydromassage, since I am thinking that all tubs in the Infinity Series include hydromassage (not sure tho, check the website). Annie's post seems to indicate that the Infinity has an aftermath 'drying' air blast, even with using the jets, so that's great for the bacteria issue.

Of course, the Infinity Series is usually the one that dealers have on the floor. It would be great if someone in your area had a demonstrator with water. If not, you could always just climb into a floor model and note where the jets might hit your (his) neck and lower back. Jetted showers are also good for those therapeutic areas. But of course, add another $750 (almost) to your shower costs, unless you purchase one of those "all in one 'showerhead-jets-faucet' units." Again, check with Ted on his pricing.

for those with the infinity series - does yours have the little padded head rest? How has that functioned? The one in the showroom would not stay in place and looked rather cheap and grimy. Comments?

Yes - ours has the padded neck rest. (DH loves it). Don't have a problem with it staying on. I can see with the velcro that it may be one in a few yrs. I don't think it looks "cheap" - but I will say that it is starting to look not as white. I will also clarify that with - we have horrible well water and NOTHING stays white at our house

On the hardness of the seat bottom. Just from my experience. The water action doesn't let my butt stay on the bottom to feel it so I can't say I've noticed it at all. (I'm 5'6" and it's a stretch to reach the end of the tub with my toes when all the jets are on just for balance).

Just my 2c. We recently did a complete remodel of our master bath and included an Aquatic Serenity 5 Whirlpool that we bought through Expo. Very happy with Expo. Don't know about tub since it still doesn't work. Aquatic delivered tub without a key connector (to controls). Expo called Aquatic, who delivered wrong cable. Expo called Aquatic again, and they said they would deliver but we have to pay for FedEx. Tub still doesn't work, but if this is an example of their customer service, I'd think twice before buying Aquatic.
