Exterior Paint for 80's Contemporary Home
Comments (3)https://www.upsidetosmartside.com/blog/fresh-color-palettes-for-a-brown-roof/ Use the Portrait Blue for the walls, and the Stone Door for an accent trim and Enchanted Cottage for the Front Door and porch post. Don't contrast the trim around the garage doors, let the walls, garage doors all be the same color. The house will look much larger.. Do make the guttering the same color as the surface behind it is. If you search "What brand of Paint is Portrait Blue" this whole assorted page of links shows up in Pinterest mentioning Behr and SW... The house will look larger with a lighter color. Grays and Blues are very close in color. WIth your brown roof, a shade of blue is the closest to gray that will match it. There are many shades of gray from confederate gray on up..Maybe this Portrait Blue would be more gray in the day light. The house could use some lighter tones probably to make it look more inviting. I hope you find a paint color you like!! Keep us posted! :)...See MoreNeed help picking exterior paint color for 80s Contemp
Comments (9)I think you can do a gray, as long as it is a warmer tone (more taupe/greige) than a cool gray. I think you need to do that to help tie the siding color in with the stone color. I would vote no on white trim. With your contemporary home I would maybe lean more towards something in the same tone, just darker, as the siding. I would probably also look at pruning or removing the tree/shrub next to the stone. It's overgrown and hiding part of the window. With the recessed door I would look at a brighter color to make it more a focal point. Comments (20)Yes, the plants are a constant work in progress with the shade and the sloped yard and deer that devour everything. Once we got the pachysandra growing densely that helped. Deer don't touch the boxwoods. We have rhododendrons, but they are high since the deer trimmed off all the lower growth. We had some rot, but the painters brought a carpenter who replaced all the bad boards. We've also had to do control for wasps and ants. Keep ahead of the bugs. Figured out we had insects when the woodpecker started on the siding! When budget allows a more contemporary front door would be nice, plus change the light fixtures, and stucco the chimney....See MoreExterior paint color help - 80s Tudor
Comments (2)I mean....beige and brown? You don't really get color choices with this architectural style. Beige/off-white stucco w/brown trim IS the style of the home. At most you could get away with a different color tone of off-white stucco and brown/greige trim, and a new color for shutters/front door....See Moregroveraxle
