Which countertop color for white cabinets and dark flooring?

We just had new white shaker cabinets installed in our kitchen along with dark vinyl flooring has more grey tones in it than brown. Appliances will be stainless steel and hardware including faucet is satin nickel. Walls in connecting room are Sherwin Williams Dhurrie Beige. See pics for reference!
Need some Houzz advice on which neutral countertop color to go with. We haven’t chosen any backsplash either. Our style is on the clean, contemporary side. We’re leaning toward white tones counters but a matte, light grey also caught our attention. Thoughts?

5 years agoWhat do you want for your backsplash? Quiet/neutral or an eye catching pattern? Your backsplash preference will dictate if your counter should be more plain or have some pattern. The backsplash is a much more visible element than the counters.

Comments (9)I'm not sure where you can see the various colors, but the Pegasus sink offered at HD is made for Pegasus by Blanco and it's basically the same sink, different shape and IMHO the finish is not as nice looking as the Blanco brand sink. I've also heard that Expo and Great Indoors have them but in what color or style, I'm not sure. You can also go to the Blanco website to see where it might be in stock locally. Marin County isn't at all a remote area so I'd be surprised if there wasn't a Kitchen/bath showroom somewhere that didn't have them. For what it's worth, I was very hesitant about buying something like this not only sight unseen, but from online as well. So I did my research and after seeing it at HD, I took the risk. Comments (1)modern space..with white lacquer cabs?? look at all the different whites./light .....but add some swirl with a shade running through or small flecks or metallic elements giving a bit of sparkle. 5 years agolast modified: 5 years agoHi, I like your cabinets and your floors. You mentioned you would consider a light grey. Please have a look at Silestone Eternal Serena. I saw it this past weekend in person and really liked it. Lighter grey with some subtle white veining. It might really work well with your current choices.

As for backsplash, you should wait to finalize and install the counter before making the choice. But if I chose this counter, I'd be looking at a herringbone backsplash that is white with grey veining. Something like calacatta or statuario marble. Or good old white subway would likely also look good.Something like this:
