Comments (11)patti: It was gazania who posted the site. I really liked looking around in it. Here's the VERY simple recipe: LeMayo Fish 25 minutes Serving Size: 2 Calories: 272 Grams of Carbs: 31.3 Grams of Fat: 12 Grams of Protein: 10.5 Ingredients 10 oz fish fillet (I like tilapia) 2 tablespoons mayonnaise 1 teaspoon lemon pepper half cup breadcrumbs (plain or flavored). Instructions 1Place fish on baking dish or foil brushed with oil. 2Smear mayonnaise over all. Sprinkle with lemon pepper and bread crumbs. 3Bake in a 400-degree oven for 15 to 20 minutes, according to thickness of fish. 4Serve with lemon wedges or tartar sauce. (I omitted the lemon pepper, sprinkled lime juice on instead.) Shirley I have a recipe I've used a couple of times before similar to this but using mustard instead of mayo. I like this better....See MoreWhat's for dinner Sunday?
Comments (14)Hellion, I've wondered about Schwan's products. I see their truck making deliveries here a lot. Looked them up on-line and the have a nice variety. Do your order from them on a regular basis and if so, what are your favorites? Georgysmom's recipe isn't on The Gathering Place site that I could see, but here's the recipe. It really has a refreshing taste, due to the fresh parsley. I didn't have green onions so I used shallots today and it's just as good. Ditalini Shrimp Salad 1 c. uncooked asta (ditalini or tiny shells) 9 oz. cooked shrimp cut in bite-sized pieces 3 stalks celery, finely diced 2 green onions, finely diced 1/2 tsp. fresh dill, finely chopped (I like a little more) 1 Tbsp. fresh parsley, roughly chopped (I like a lot more) 1/4 c. fresh lemon juice 1 c. mayonnaise Salt and pepper to taste 3 hard-boiled eggs Cook pasta in lightly salted water until al dente (about 8 minutes). Drain, rinse and set aside. Combine mayo and lemon juice. Mix pasta, celery, dill, parsley, shrimp and mayo mixture. Slice eggs. Gently add most of the eggs to mixture saving a few slices for garnish. Chilll several hours. Refreshing warm weather salad. Glenda, sorry your dinner wasn't as good as it normally is. It sounds good, though. Was the traffic bad in your area due to the holiday? Hostapasta, my gosh that sounds delicious. We don't care who does the cooking. We just like to read what everyone's been doing and what they're eating. I missh Harry's cooking. He didn't do all of it, but a good portion when we were both working and he got home at 2:30 and I didn't get home until after 6 some evenings. A few weeks ago I roasted a chicken and made a big fat mess in the oven. You've thought the house was on fire with the amount of smoke. Had to open eery door and window and turn on the ceiling fans :-) Glad you didn't have that experience....See MoreWhat's for dinner Sunday?
Comments (16)Tried a new Japanese Steakhouse last night. Very good. Best dinner out for a very long time. Usually disappointed when we try a new "must try" restaurant. Very entertaining, cooked at your table. Onion soup (not French Onion you may expect, very light and refreshing), salad with a very nice house Ginger dressing. I had New York steak and lobster. Lobster was very flavorful. Steak and lobster cooked perfectly. Fried rice and stir fried vegies were wonderful. Chef skills, sense of humor and engaging the table were priceless! Not something we can afford often, but we will definitely be back! Now, if the powers that be, would see fit to bring an outstanding Chinese restaurant to the area, I would be ever so grateful! *Thank you in advance*...See Moreplllog
