Comments (17)Hi goldgirl, I think I remember that thread sometime ago, and made my complaint known then also. Like Ms. Pucci, the cost at this point, isn't an issue~I'm 71, and almost anything goes. lol When I was getting the Botox 2 years ago, I asked about the dark circles, and the dr. told me there was a new treatment, but he wasn't that familiar with it, so wasn't doing it yet. I'm sure by now he's an expert on the technique! I believe it was either the Restylane or Juv'ederm, since those were the only 2 fillers he used. I had a bit of (Restylane)injected for some deeper lines, so I would have to believe there isn't an issue with having an allergic reaction. Since I'm now in Austin, I'm researching for a new dr., and will definitely be getting the procedure. Ain't no time like the present! ;)...See MoreUnder Eye Wrinkles
Comments (42)Shee, thanks for explaining baking. It would seem to me that you need a pretty smooth canvas (skin) for that to work. Otherwise, it will either sit in or on top of wrinkles and eventually crack and look worse. Catty, I use Retin A and tend to cover my entire face, but am careful around my eyes. I don't know how old all of you are, but once you get wrinkles and gravity begins its work, I don't think you're going to get any lasting fixes from creams and powders. That ship has already sailed. About 15 years ago I had my eyes done. I had inherited little pooches under my eyes. Lots of people have them. They looked okay when I was young, but as I aged, they became very baggy. Ugh. The surgery took care of it. However within a couple of years I noticed that the skin under my eyes looked a little crepey, like skin where there's substantial weight loss. I had some laser work done and that took care of that. Now, guess what? No bags, so a little tendency to hollow. A bit of filler every 18-24 months takes care of it. I'm not talking crazy cheek fillers, just a little spackle here and there....See MoreHas anyone had fillers for lines under the eyes.
Comments (42)3katz, I get Botox 4 times a year, 1/2 syringe I think, mostly in my forehead, between my eyes (those two vertical lines between my eyes, know what I mean?). It runs about $300 a session because there's a points program you can apply to future costs. Where I go this would cost Ida $600 since she gets Botox twice a year. I don't color my hair. If I did, I'd need a touchup at least every 4-6 weeks. I'd want it done well. How much do I save not having to do that? I just looked at prices on a couple of invoices I saved. With discounts, I paid $875 for Voluma and $495 for Restylane. The Voluma lasts a year or so, fills general low spots and deeper lines. I don't use it to inflate my cheekbones which are fine. Restylane is for my undereye area and will last 15-18 months. It's the difference between a hollow, haggard look and a smooth area that doesn't look "done" at all. So, based on my usage, it costs me maybe $200/month, although I don't get stuff every month. As others have said, we all have things we care a lot about, that others would consider nonessential, even frivolous or shallow. Why shell out money for new bedding? Who's gonna see my bedroom anyway, and why do I care what they think of it? My car is 15 years old and it drives just fine. If I were unable to afford groceries or pay my utilities on time because of my vanity expenses, I would have a problem. I have enough of what I need. I can even give some away. If someone wants to feel better about their appearance (hello, makeup? haircut? laundered clothes?), go forth and do so....See MoreOutsidePlaying
