Comments (4)Are you perhaps confusing S. sempervirens with Sequoiadendron giganteum? There's no reason to scarify or stratify the coastal redwood seeds. A sterile germinating medium and a shallow covering that allows sunlight to penetrate to this seeds is though. Comments (3)I would second Luckys suggestion. I have lost some apple seeds because they were too far sprouted by the time I looked at them in the fridge. I think it took them two months or so to sprout so I would wait until a couple months before you want to plant them. Comments (49)I have two stinging nettle plants but they aren't growing hardly at all. I guess I made the mistake of planting the well rooted cuttings in 3 gallon pots instead of 1 gallons to start. The tea is very sweet. Such a joy to drink it. I made the mistake of trying to eat the leaves after I made the tea. Big mistake. Nothing like stinging tongue. Thank God it only lasted a few minutes.
