How much cold can a wonder eggplant tolerate?
Comments (4)I don't know that eggplant, but I have eggplants in the garden and they can take a light freeze. I don't think 50 is low enough to cause any damage to yours, even in a pot. Actually, 2 of mine are in large containers and they made it through last winter just fine, with a couple of light freezes....See MoreWhat should I do with my brugs? Need advice quick.
Comments (92)John, I had a pretty good year here. French Canadian is on her third flush with another to come if the temps hold. I think it is just that way some years, I had one like that a couple of years ago with no rhyme or reason. I figure they should be allowed the odd 'off' one. :) I say this for any and all zones.... improve your soil and plant them directly into the ground so you do not have to fertilize or water so much. A good root system will give you a good plant and good flowers. I fertilized mine for only the second( and last) time this year the last week in August. That is really my only 2 'secrets'....See MoreIn need of Dishes to Freeze
Comments (4)Besides soups listed above, I also freeze chili, bean soup, chicken or turkey noodle, Lasagna also works great. When making for dinner, prepare an extra one or two. After baking, cut into smaller, individual portion sizes and freeze. Quick easy meal. Just add salad and bread. Done Meat loaf : instead of making a large 2 lb loaf, prepare in smaller individual loaves. Being smaller, they're easier to thaw and cook faster too. Meat Balls: I prepare the balls. Place them on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper or foil. Freeze. Once frozen, place individual balls in ziploc bags or containers according to portion size needed for your meals. By freezing first on cookie sheets the balls don't stick together. I realize a large cookie sheet takes up a lot of space in freezer, but only needs to freeze for a couple hours. Love the cookie dough suggestion listed above. Gonna try with my next batch. Any more ideas out there?...See MoreNeed some quick advise..
Comments (9)Sharon, I am always here to help you with posting your pictures. If you don't still have my email address it is runvswingathotmaildotcom. Here are the directions I put on a post not long ago. You should be able to do your pictures using them. Go to tinypic.com Click on "choose file" a window will open, now go get the picture you want to upload. Now click on "choose" in bottom right corner. That window will disappear. Now click upload now (in green). Left click on the top yellow box (html for websites) right click. Now left click on copy, come to the message box here at the KT and left click. Now right click and click on paste. Now you want to preview and your picture should appear. If it doesn't appear there is something wrong. If it does appear then hit submit and share your picture with everyone....See Morejerzeegirl (FL zone 9B)
