Dining table dilemma... help!
Comments (10)Cut out some newspaper and shape and 42" table. Use painter's tape to tape it to the floor and pull up some folding chairs like you were sitting at dinner. How does that feel? If you get up from the table and push back your chair, does it hit anything? Is there space for someone to walk behind you in your chair if they needed to excuse themselves from the table? You might also consider a trestle table and bench with two chairs on the left side. Again, paper and painter's tape will help you decide....See MoreDining Room Lighting Dilemma

Comments (22)Thank you 🙂 I think I will sleep on it. I’m starting to feel the table a bit more everyday. Perhaps the idea is sometimes ‘not to match things’. I’m thinking to have no rug underneath and instead of trying to blend it all together, perhaps to incorporate a little bit of eclecticism and let that different wood stand out. Thank you all for opinions, I think you actually convinced me to keep this table! I’ll see how it looks with chairs once they arrive.....See MoreDining room table dilemma
Comments (3)I'm no pro but I think those chairs are not the best choice with that rug. I put together some boards of options. I like the black light fixture with some of them better. What is wrong with the current rug? It looks nice to me. IMO, the black light looks better with this combo. I think the rug, the grey chair and light are all competing for attention. This kind of chair above, works better for me as it's calmer....See MoreHome Interiors with Ease
