Dining room table dilemma

Hi! I chose the Serena and lily balboa mist dining room chairs, a grey / pewter polypropelen rug, this strada Kelly wearstler light and am struggling on color of table ... either of the Arles tables shown in photos or the Serena and lily table shown.... which would u choose? photo Of existing dining room also attached for reference — cream drapes staying. Thank you! Ps any input on my choices below is welcome!

I'm no pro but I think those chairs are not the best choice with that rug. I put together some boards of options. I like the black light fixture with some of them better. What is wrong with the current rug? It looks nice to me.

IMO, the black light looks better with this combo.

This one doesn't work for me at all

I like this one best with either the black or gold light but still not with both the rug and chair. Looks better to me with the original rug.

What about this?

I think the rug, the grey chair and light are all competing for attention. This kind of chair above, works better for me as it's calmer.

Thank you so much I didn’t know how to do that to see the options all together!!! The existing rug is a beige that is off alittle with the cream drapes but really just got trashed by kiddos walking thru the room so was going to go little darker with the grey. I like the board u did with the grey table... dark light is cool hadn’t thought of that ... had been thinking brass color to warm up room since grey can look cold? Again,thank you!!

no, no swag. you could pony off one of the canned lights (remove that middle one if you like) and place it directly over the table. (if you don't want to patch a hole, then leave it. They can make a new hole and fish the line from that closest can) they make fixtures or adapters for sloped ceilings. just read the specs. as for the chairs, they're all over the place. google Loom dining chairs. or woven rope chairs

Wow, these are great ideas! I don’t want an open hutch because it reminds me of farmhouse. My issue with the chairs is matching the wood. I like the upholstered chairs more. I was thinking a cream hutch. Love the chandelier ideas as well!

If it doesn’t work for you like this. Than try swapping the layout. You don’t have anything to lose. I will say I would turn the dining table the other way. Matching the way the island is.

The room could benefit from a new chandelier. If you have a need for a buffet, scootch back the chairs on that side of the room and see if you have enough room for something. It is also possible to buy console tables that are only 12" deep. I don't think one 36" square picture is going to fill the wall adequately. There was one poster a couple months ago who put family pictures in her dining room. This is unique, but it was a good way to fill the space with things she wanted to display. I'm all for breaking the rules when it suits you. Strangers shouldn't be able to tell you what you should or shouldn't put on your walls. :-) Here are some pictures of things other people did with similar space. Here it is with the gold. It looks nice.

I just do a snip of each item and then paste it into a power point.

I'm still not a fan of the chairs, but if you love them, go for it.
