Having trouble with Houzz again

All of a sudden I had to sign in in order to respond to a post. I signed in my user name (Georgysmom) and my password, went through umpteen I'm not a robot challenges, and I kept getting the message that the password and username did not check out. Tried changing the password umpteen times and finally got signed in but it's as imdrno instead of Georgysmom. I'm a very patient person, but this site is driving me crazy!!!!

I had "issues" this weekend to the point where I thought I must be in an alternate universe.

It started behaving again but there are some threads I started that do not give me the option to be notified when a reply is posted. As though I am not the original poster. I just find this forum is getting close to being more work than it's worth.... I guess I am nostalgic for when it used to be a valuable reliable source of support and knowledge.

Sigh.

Do you clear your browser memory and cache regularly? If not, you should. Try a different browser. What happens?

Maidin, I second your watering habits. I too allow Dracaena soil to dry. Especially in winter. Humidity is another thing, but soil dries. Mike you are absolutely correct about care, mainly sunlight, depending where one lives. But, no matter where one resides, a plant should be cared for similar to it's native lands. For instance, desert cactus grow in sandy regions, hot and direct sun, and little rainfall. So, naturally, let's use cactus as an example, to duplicate it's native lands..We'd set it in well-draining soil, the sunniest window, and water sparingly. If a cactus grew in a dark corner, in heavy soil, and watered daily, good bye cactus..lol.. So, I understand what you're saying about different locals, on the other hand, a person in Fl can possibly get by setting a plant that'd do best for us facing south, they place in a west. Do you understand what I'm saying? Moreso, when plants are set outdoors. BTW, how ya doing? Keltic, is the soil dry? If so, give it a drink...Did the trouble start during winter? Did you repot in a larger pot, or just change soil mediums? If possible, place your Corn Plant in the shower and spray away..If you use 'saved' water, aim shower head on foliage. If not, shower the entire plant. Afterwards, allow corn plant to sit in the tub, absorbing air moisture. In fact, keep the bathroom door shut. You can even leave it overnight..First thing in the morning, remove from shower and set in medium light, working your way up to bright light..Toni

I just gave up...... After having a Gardenweb account since forever, since back when it was an offshoot of the "Parent Soup" channel thing at AOL.back in the mid-late 1990's and was still doing the same thing at the various changes and new corporate whatevers and never had an issue before or after changing my email address to Gmail in April 2004. I finally just entered a new account name at the same exact email address I have maintained since April 2004 and seemingly have either no "old" account or the new account has no conflict with the old. The old just not being able to "sign in". I have been doing this sort of thing since 1990 before even AOL back when "online" was a BBS running off of a hot rod 2400 Baud modem plug in card on an Apple IIE. I have never been one tobe concerned with site appearances, but the Huuzz scheme fonts colors layout everything, is absolutely horrendous. Just my $.02 worth..... YMMV

I had problems signing in yesterday. I never sign out, so has to be something they are doing again. Took 3 tries to get logged back in.

It's not set up well for phones, at least Android. When I post, I can't make paragraphs. It deletes the spaces between them. My replies are okay, it's just the initial post. It's annoying because 90% of my forum postings are from my phone. I wish they would fix it.

Yep, I can't access page 2 of the posts (I haven't had trouble before). I contacted Houzz and they sent me their generic post. THEY DON'T CARE! Here is a copy of the email.

If you don't want to help, just say so. 1. I do use google chrome. 2. Yes, everything auto updates. 3. I'm not stupid. 4.You can't seem to program the site to work. You fix one thing and it messes everything else up. 5. The search function that used to work great on Garden Web, now just returns nonsense that is in no way connected to the term searched.

I already don't use the Kitchen, Bathroom, or Design sites, because of the snarky, smarmy "Pros". I have found one garden site on Facebook I like. I guess I just need to look for other ones. This site is going very downhill.
