On the subject of two curtains...unless you mean to draw them back in both directions, which would expose the liner, (unless you used two of those as well, and left the whole business open), I would combine the two curtains in the traditional way...which means, you cut the second one in half, and sew the two halves to the two sides of the first one. Otherwise, you have either a seam or two side hems running down the middle of the whole business. That means undoing the top and bottom hems, at least far enough back to re-sew them in a continuous hem once the pieces are joined all the way along. Any good seamstress should understand that if you decided to have it done.

I really like that sink. If I didn't need the storage in my small bathroom cabinet, I might consider something like that myself. It's so streamlined. The only thing I wonder about for you is whether you are going to want the sink to function both as a laundry room sink and a bathroom sink, in which case it seems bigger is better? Seems like marine-finished wood would work well and go with the organic vibe. Do you like your W/D stacked? It seems like you would have the room to unstack them and put a counter all the way across if you wanted. For me, I'm short so I'd love to have the space for both the washer and dryer to be on the floor. The kitchen cabinetry would certainly work there. The other option that would tempt me in your house would be to go with the recycled/rustic wood look you can get these days, even as an upgrade on IKEA cabinets.

I personally do like stainless steel in a different setting, but it wouldn't fit with the style we're going for. My Dad named it "Wood and Fabric," but I tried to get him to explain his preferences more and we settled on "Rocky mountain ski lodge, but not too dark." I told him he invented a style name. A lot of the houses in their neighborhood have really dark kitchens with dark stained cabinets and black counters. None of us like that look. We'll do an off white painted cabinet and dark hardware.

Having the trim painted on my new house. Love to freshen up with a more modern look with just paint on trim, stucco, door, porch and maybe garage door. Can I go darker? Charcoal, Greige? Punch of something on the door? The stone has a variety of colours to pull from and is pretty neutral. It seems so busy and I don't know where to start and end a new colour. Thanks for any advice!
