Anyone purchase a Speed Queen in the last couple of months?
Comments (80)We nust bought one yesterday, old school AWn432 for 849.99 w/tax here in central Florida, 905.24. Pretty stoked! Speed Queen baby! Yes, that's hot water and it's full to the top! No pushing a button repeatedly to put in another item and it and inadvertently cancels, a-huh, yup and you get to add more soap in. Ya that's right, SQ you just lift the lid like the old days. Yippee, no more tepid 3 cups of water swishing back n forth, not getting your clothes clean and taking 74-90 minutes a load. 30 minutes baby! Doesn't sound like a freight train and purrs like a kitten! For fancier controls also comes in a toutch screen style but simple suites me. . And yes, I don't apologize - all the greenies can kiss my a$$, cause I have Clean Clothes Fast! Did I say I'm stoked! Only thing is a partial downer is the cold rinse, but I can manually turn the dial to wash, fill up with warm or hot water then turn it back to the rince cycle. Buy of the century!...See MoreFront load vs top load washer
Comments (26)I am so very happy to have an old-school top loader again. My front loader finally bit the dust and we didn't even bother to try to have it fixed. It was here in the house when we moved in - we're kicking ourselves for paying extra to keep the set, we should have installed our old ones - and these were awful from day one. The first pain was the kamikaze clothing that leapt out from both washer and dryer when the door opened or you pulled something big out. It sucks that something you've just washed has to wait to get cleaned again. Plus, with a bad back, I didn't like bending down so far. It is infuriating that you need to spend extra money on those pedestals to raise them up, and laundry baskets won't fit under either door without them, so, again, when the door opens, things can hit the floor, which is horrible. The machines come out of the box with this huge flaw and you need to spend $150.00 minimum to make them work as they should. They should just be taller from the outset. Also, I like pulling things up out of the washer and then putting them straight into the dryer without having clean wet clothes go into a basket that has previously had dirty clothes in it. Then came the smell. Now it's possible that the previous owner pre-fouled the thing, but that gasket? Where water ALWAYS was? Yak. Mold city. No amount of bleach and cleaning would keep this thing clean. My clothing is now much cleaner after just a week of having a top loader again. I'm very sensitive to detergent left in fabrics, and mine are once again clean and my towels are far more absorbent. It's possible that a new machine, for way more money than I just paid for my new GE top loader, might be better, but we didn't want to spend that much and are happy to have the old style machine back....See Morewe need a great top load washing machine and great electric dryer
Comments (35)We bought a maytag mtw6500 6 mos ago. We bought from a local business that must have had it in storage for a LONG time. I have had nothing but headaches since owning it! I believe most of the trouble is because of the HE features! THEY STINK! The reason everything tangles is because there is not enough water to move around in. It also causes the clothes to come out still smelling like new, or like perfume, or BO etc. Called maytag cause clothes tangling, spin tearing laundry apart after 6 mos of using because spins too hard. And clothes not getting clean. Dirt in the form of thin mud left on work clothes, etc. I read & reread manual did ALL possible combinations of washing settings, nothing helped! Maytag said would send repairman but warranty does not cover mileage. We live 40 miles from nearest maytag repairman. It was $1 per mile each way. Soooo....$80 just for him to come. Washer cost $900. Repairman said nothing wrong. After hubby & I made several calls to Maytag they just said washer doing what it's supposed to. I finally said "NO, it's supposed to wash clothes and get them clean! It's not!" They say to send them copy of receipt and will buy back minus $150 for 6 mos use. We will see what really happens....See MoreBlue Star Range-top 6 months in
Comments (31)Hi. No fancy cooking here. It simmers very well. There is a simmer burner (back right corner) that works exceptionally. Cleaning is very easy. The BS is open cast iron. Debris tumbles down thru the grates and burners onto 3 metal drip trays designed to catch everything. The trays pull out and are easily removed. We line ours with foil to make it easier. For example, two weeks while boiling rice, the starchy rice water boiled over the top and down the sides of the pot, landing all over the grate and drip trays. The grate wiped clean with warm soapy water and I just had to replace foil on drip tray. Excess oil splatter can be rubbed into the cast iron to help season, which also helps with cleaning. I can’t speak about the Wolf but prior in a life had enamel bowl 30” stove and hated having to scrub enamel. The range top is tank. We could nearly five days a week. With regards to customer service, I don’t know how much you will need them. We are two years in and no issues. Only time I read about customer service needs was anyone with a full range. Best of luck. You won’t regret it!...See More5southridge
